I don't see the contradiction. If Oty eats the Corpse Explosion's target, well conceptually speaking, it shouldn't explode. There is no corpse left after a Devour, if you want.
I don't want everybody and his dog to play Cat+CE either. It is obviously too strong.

Now my pov is that I don't like wordings to include exceptions towards specific cards. It is terrible wording.

We are creating cards here. New ideas. New concepts. It means new terminology and\or new rules as well. Don't be affraid to use a better and proper wording for the sake of recycling existing terminologies... It's pointless.

This card is a really good concept. I'm giving my lov because I care. :)

the card text was not written up specifically to exclude the cat.  the fact that the cat would have to either explode when it triggered its ability (and be removed from play as a result), or go in line with aflatoxin and not trigger the explosion.

there would still be a corpse after oty ate it, a corpse is just a lifeless body- even if the oty bit it off in chunks or chew it up, it would still be a corpse, just in several bits, and would then explode.

the wording was standard, every card relating to a creature dying is written in such a way, if you want to phrase things however you want, your results may vary.

Schrödinger's Cat could trigger the effect, but remove the effect afterwards. Cat gets to stay alive as per its theme, yet doesn't become OP by casting RoF for 1 :entropy each turn. It also isn't OP since you can't discount the requirement of 1 :entropy in a duo

Honestly this is probably a bit UP, and would be better off instant killing your own creature. But that'd remove the use cases of targetting the opponent's creature, which is where this will really be used. That'd give it good synergy with Bone Yard (maybe too much?), and considering how much one gets from Immolation, this should still be cheaper since the only thing it has going for it is Bone Yard being in element
