Wouldn't be quite as awesome. High cost always implies elemental affinity, which is quite necessary in Duality cards.

I think I would like this card more if it would be a permanent. somesort of eclipse.

Yes, and if would be a permanent would be more powerful than eclipse, because of the additional effect. Btw, it would be also repetitive.
