NOTES:
Similar to Enchant Artifact, this can protect one of your permanents. The difference is that your opponent can still destroy it, but must pay the price.

This puts a :fire icon on the permanent, similar to how PA puts a :time icon. It only has one use; if the permanent remains after being targeted the :fire icon will disappear.

Damage is reflected by reflective shields.

Note that this requires a permanent to actually be destroyed via the destroy effect - things like Sundial or Unstable Gas won't work with it.

Seems like it might go good with fire-PC or Pulvy... I'd hate to see a deck with 6 of those + PA'd Pulvy :3

Yep, Steal counts as a destroy effect. So does Nymph's Tears. Earthquake only triggers it once.

EDIT: Okay, I changed it. Now it triggers when targeted, and only once.

Yes, PA will cause the booby trap to explode.

Hmm. It seems it should really deal damage to the targeter. I think I'll change it to do that.

EDIT: Changed. Now deals damage to targeter.

Very great idea! Although perhaps 20hp is too much? Maybe 15 or so. Sounds a bit more reasonable. I'd hate to see mono fire decks with booby trapped shields and fahrenheits though.

It would be annoying, but it would place emphasis on using alternate means of permanent control. Like  :water freezing the weapon, or  :gravity momentum past the shield.
Or, you could pack the PC and take it, but migitate the damage.

I smiled reading your post cause I was thinking the same thing. PA being one of the oldest cards in the game and there NEVER has been an addition it anti-PC since.

or maybe show that you played the card. but not which permanent you protected with it. that way it adds some minor protection to your other permanents as well.

This is pretty cool, but I don't think that it should be reflectable, otherwise you could trigger this yourself while having a mirror shield and deal 20 damage to your opponent.  It would require a lot to set up, but you could do something like mirror shield, this card, and unupped pandemonium, and when all your creatures with this are targeted by pandemonium, they deal 20 damage each to the opponent.  Hard to pull off, but really funny, and almost guaranteed death if you can manage it.  In a duo, you could use explosion/CC + this + mirror/jade shield to deal 20 damage each time.

How about this: Towers, this, explosions, SoGs/SoVs, shields. Definitely faster than UG decks.
