If the opponent's shield is immaterial when you use Wind Waltz, you may only give your opponent your shield. The opponent's new shield is no longer immaterial. If your shield is immaterial when you use Wind Waltz, all effects are carried out unaffected. This card nicely supports any deck which cannot handle being up against a particular type of shield, while providing the opponent something most likely inferior in terms of strategy. If I run a UG deck with WWs, my Fog Shield won't help you much, but your Reflective Shield... well. It will come in handy *wink* ~boom~ The upgrade bonus gives the user the benefit of having a flexible card that does not ask too much of the user. In terms of balancing, I figured that as an upgraded Steal costs 3 , this version should cost less due to the restriction on option. It is interesting with dissipation field because if you have enough damage on the board you can wipe out their quanta. I like it, and I think it is at the right cost. The unupped is pretty weak and probably wouldn't see too much play.

An idea: It might be more fun if it was swap your shield for any opponent's permanent. In that way you could possibly get rid of two enemy permanents at the cost of this card and your shield. I suppose that is pretty close to steal though.
