Hey, that's a photo of an actual sacrificial altar . . .

 . . . that was in a Roman bathouse . . .

It's actually surprisingly hard to find a decent picture of some sort of sacrificial altar. If anyone knows of a better one please let me know.

Nah I like it as it is.

Well done and good work. The card definately has merit and although not an end game card would be a great starter or middle game usage.

Thanks

Nothing wrong with the picture. Good chance it'll get replaced with something more elementsy and its an example that people can see easily enough for feel.

What I was making a laugh at was the tag lines for the image "UK - Somerset - Bath: Roman Baths Museum - The Altar"
and the image title "england_britain_bath_818835_l.jpg"
making the Altar by title a bathroom fixture in the element of death.

Now what are you thinking when I tell you that someone was killed by a Bathroom Fixture of Death.
It amused me for a minute that I was amused by Intelectual Toilet Humor.

I need a suggestion for this card.

As much as I hate to point this out now that the card is doing really well in the polls, one of the newly created cards is really unfair when combined with this, so I need to revise something.

I am talking, of course, about voodoo doll.

As it stands now, every time a voodoo doll was fed to the altar your opponent would take 20 damage, in addition to the usual effects. Since a  :darkness / :death duo is already a fairly viable deck I'm worried this could be a broken combo.

I'll change the poll.

*edit* wait, does cremation trigger voodoo doll? because if not then this wouldn't either

Cremation does not trigger voodoo doll. The Voodoo doll must survive to do its damage to the opponent.

Well never mind then, crisis averted. (thanks!)

I would say it does activate boneyard, but that sacrificing undead doesn't work. So you cannot sacrifice skeletons, vampires, or mummies. That would make it not stack too much with producing skeletons (since like you said, being able to sacrifice your own creatures is quite something already.

How about it generates  :death (and hp in the upped version) equal to the quantum cost of the sacrificed creature? Maybe even make it so the sacrificed creature must be non :death non-neutral?
This makes the sacrifice an actual sacrifice, and leads to much more balanced play (it still allows you to convert all sorts to  :death).

Why not add a death cultist as well? =D

5 :death
0|3
:darkness: Abduction.
For this turn only, target altar may sacrifice opponent creatures.

Note: because you need to target the altar, it can't be PA'd
It's powerful, but requires 2 cards and 2 quantum types. Is vulnerable to both CC and PC.

The altar is doing quite well in the polls, so I'm not going to change it around completely right now. I think I might have  even seen a spell card similar to what you're describing somewhere in the suggestions.

As to the cultist, it could be interesting, but but right now it probably wouldn't get much support since it would depend very heavily on another card that isn't in the game yet. So far interdependent cards have not fared well.

If Zanz deems to smile upon this card and it makes it into the game (a longshot), then maybe we can try to sell people on the cultist.

Are there any updates I should make for the forge?

I'm currently trying to work on making a new image, here's what I have so far:

Opinions on the image? Anything I should fix with it?

The image is done entirely by yours truly, so I have all the needed rights to it.

Want some art for this?  I could lay down some sketch ideas.
