its not too dissimilar from explosive gas in terms of how much damage it does, but instead of dealing 1 damage to all creatures, this can deal up to 8 more damage. and it is a good point that you can utilize this in pairing with fractal to produce a strong effect.
but also to the people saying it is UP- this does have OTK potential if you save up cards and quanta, staying alive with dim shields if necessary. 28+24+20+16+12=100 for 25
. but its not a likely scenario, its much more likely that you can use creatures to get rid of the first ~50 damage and then use two of these with 7 and 6 cards in hand respectively to finish them off. its an easier combo to pull off than fractal sparks, even though this could be used in combination with a fractal sparks deck.
^^^ That, and it's worthless once the opponent sets up a Mirror Shield.
I would have said to let it target creatures as well, but Lightning would still outshine it. D:
uhm, yeah, mirror shield makes firebolt worthless too. but you still dont see many mirror shields being put into play.
it doesnt target creatures because that is not this card's purpose, i knew lightning already handles CC fine. this card is sort of like aether's nuke spell, but unlike firebolt/siphon/frostbolt it is not dependent on having a stockpile of quanta to power it, or explosive gas being exposed to PC for one+ turns.
or you could have it do 28 damage four turns in a row if you set it up to do so
