War 13 R1 Discussion

OKAY: The number one most important thing is that we give all our decks cool deck names. The rest is secondary. To start, I think we should rename "speed crema" to crema redeema, because that deck will be our savior for this war. I can feel it.

So these are my initial thoughts for matchups and boosts:
- dim spirits (general)
- fire eater (tinkerer)
- fractix or speed crema (alchemist)
- mito rol hope (mercenary)

Alchemist might be iffy but I dont think gravity is going to give us anything super useful. And being able to get 6 of any card right off the bat will give us some good options. If we win we can also fully replace any decks that lose R1. I think life stall is an option for both  and  . Steam machine is also a possibility for  .

I also think it would be absolutely hilarious if we ran 4 mono fires R1. If you guys are down then I'm all in.

Pros:
1.) mono fire salvage is pretty terrible for everyone. The only useful tool they would gain would be deflag. Light could maybe use firebolt. This would keep powerful tools from releasing out into the wild too early.
2.) We reveal absolutely nothing about our vault.
3.) I'm pretty well known to have one of the wildest play styles of any current player. This might make mono fire the least expected deck from us, unless mono fire normally dominates the match-up.

Cons:
1.) Any sane team will be testing against mono fire and making sure that they can at least compete with this deck, if not beat it.
2.) We have a lot of old vets returning to other teams. They're likely to try and counter the tried and true decks rather than preparing for things like newer versions of immolation or weird stalls.
3.) I'm pretty well known to have one of the wildest play styles of any current player. This might mean that the opponent won't even consider teching for other decks because they have no idea what I will play. Which means they will play standard (however, mono fire does beat a lot of standard decks from other teams).

gambler and alchemist are actually fairly strong if you win. No salvage role or ltups at all though?

As for the decks i dont mind bringing dims early, as it may spook people into running pc, which for many of them will be detrimental against most of our decks and time is an appropriate element to use it against in vacuum at least. Unsure about the rest

If we want lt. and salvager we need to run other decks then. Also, half our decks really don't benefit much from lt. Like lifestall doesn't really need it and neither do the crema decks. Salvager would be nice to run if we choose to use a life stall this round. Lt. I think would only be useful this round with steam machines vs. light.

Uh, crema decks very much need ups, thats why we put salvager in there in the first place; lt means we can reasonably build  a crema deck with upped phoenixes, combining speed and resilience

I actually kind of like the phase salvager CP combo a lot. No need for resilience when you win in 4 turns. It's almost better than standard crema because it doubles down on the decks strength and doubling the weakness. But if you were already running into a losing situation it didn't matter.

I like dims vs time

firestall should be by far our strongest deck vs life, if we are ok with showing it

for gravity we need a bit of testing, but i think if we go -3 fire lance -fireshield-deflag +3 ragepot+ nymph+pillar (and up ome towers) we should have a solid deck there (unless they go guardtal), crema being another solid option with some other weaknesses instead. I'm not sure why you like fractix there

from light i am expecting a few strong hitters with decent resilience +some miracles (sow glories,  pegirush or just a mono). Sow glories kind of throws a wrench into some of the counters (although fw up cost might seem prohibitive enough), pegi might run shockwaves.
crema+ earthquake could be solid here
could potentially outstall them too

Right now, not really. We will need testing after the first round though. So next week when we actually have an idea of what other teams have.

Except for yours those would be my second or third choice for the respective matchups; why did you stick to your original lineup in its entirity? i named a couple of other options we could use
