-1 Pendulum, +1 Pillar might even be better. -1 Pend +1 Fahren would help the deck a lot.

Just start chaining when you would be filled with yellow next turn (generally 17-19 cards) and chain until the end. The only real weakness is not drawing shields, and I was surprised to see that didn't happen.

I tried this version and it almost worked for me; just got bad shield draw. Do you think it would help more than hinder to add sundials and change mark to time?

I died using the fire bolt deck because I waited too long before I put a shield out. I had ~9 HP left, didn't know she packed bolts. She just bolted me 3 times for the win. :-(

Used this deck and I just baaarely won. Also, I won three upped cards in the one match! :p

The last deck I posted in this thread was no good.  The following went 6-4 with one EM.  Still not great but it might be better than sudden killer.

EMed with this deck. Probably not reliable, but beating a False God with Mono Darkness is just super awesome.

I guess I'm not thinking clearly, but I don't get how this works consistently against FQ.

lobo the ffq's steal the bonds and fractal mindflayers for damage.  All of the fire cards become dead and clog up any drawing

By 'consistently' I'm talking about the damage output. He still has Eyes that kill your flayers in one shot, plus if he gets out fireflies before you get a flayer, and then the several bonds he still has left.

you can steal those too. and if he gets started too fast you lose. hence the 4 loses. Have you tried it?

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be commenting. However, the more you play, the more you can tell how two decks compare by looking at them. I'm not even very good at this, but these are two simple decks. I'm not saying it won't work, but it will likely only work half of the time, and his sample backs that up.

If you steal an Eye in the slot, he'll have more bonds. If you steal the bonds first, he'll kill your flayers. If you don't draw anymore steals, you can continue either of those. Meanwhile, you're still prone to being outrushed. If you struggle to get out a flayer, he'll animate his Eyes and spawn fireflies. With even one firefly, he gets a fire lance. And if you struggle to get a fractal, you won't have the damage output to finish him.
