We are the Brawl team "Fiery Hot Mixtape", and we deliver you the deck Flown SoFree SoBra Long Swords. Evident from our lengthy title, the deck's entire strategy is composed of using Flying Weapon, with a Long Sword equipped, to pump out damage, with the aide of Shard of Freedom and Shard of Bravery.
Card by Card breakdown:
Flying Weapon: Part of the 3 card combo feature in this deck. It's used to "animate" a weapon, or in other words, place your weapon on the field with an identical ATK stat, and a bit of HP. This allows the Long Sword to use Shard of Freedom to supplement it's damage. These are strategically unupgraded, as not to take away quanta produced by your Fire mark, used to fuel Shard of Bravery.
Long Sword: The heavy lifter of this deck. Without it, the deck would have no way to do damage, and fail miserably. As stated before, it's part of the 3 card combo, with Flying Weapon and Shard of Freedom.
Shard of Bravery: This card is a supplement to the 3 card combo. Shard of Bravery's effect of drawing up to 3 cards are invaluable to the deck, since it lets you cycle through your deck quicker, letting you draw your combo cards faster.
Improved Fog: Unfortunately, Shard of Bravery also draws cards for your opponent, letting them get more damage out as well. Improved Fog's 40% chance to make enemy creature's attacks fail, taking the edge off the drawback of Shard of Bravery. (Fog Hax, anyone?)
Shard of Freedom: Everybody's favorite shard. Shard of Freedom gives your Long Swords a 25% chance to deal 50% more damage, and best of all, the 25% chance stacks, giving a 100% chance to deal 50% more damage.
Strategy:
The strategy is simple, and does not differ much based on your opponent. You simply play a Long Sword, then cast Flying Weapon, to pump out more damage as you draw the set pieces. Play Shard of Freedom to supplement your Long Sword's damage, and play Shard of Bravery as needed to draw through your deck. Be mindful of decking yourself out, though!
Weaknesses:
Reverse Time: The bane of any combo deck. When Reverse Time'd, you do not receive the Flying Weapon, nullifying the effectiveness of Shard of Freedom, as it does not work on weapon-slot equipped Long Swords.
Damage dealing/delaying CC's: Long Swords don't do damage if they're delayed, frozen, or just straight up dead.
Large amounts of healing: This deck's damage is linear, as it does not have any finishers included within it. This means, that if a deck can outheal the damage you output, you will not be able to break down their defenses. |
