At the darkest hour of the night, the assassin stalks his prey. Silent, Untouchable, Unseeable, the Lord of the Underworld   :underworld slips into the darkness and disposes of his targets without them ever knowing....

This is Midnight, my entry for the False God competition. It's designed to be fun, thematic, annoying, somewhat difficult, but nowhere near impossible. Eclipsed Vampire Daggers offer the main source of damage. They are incredibly cheap, and can be spammed somewhat effectively, and can also be TUed later. Their damage is the same as Morning Glories when Eclipse is out, and for only 2 quanta, they make for great rush material. The combination of Silence and Phase Shields offer the main stall, silence to annoy you and make it more difficult to set up, and phase shields to keep your creatures from connecting. Combined with the healing from Vamp Daggers, it would be difficult to bust through this god's defences. Cloak is the main all around protection. With chained cloaks out, it makes it both difficult to keep track of what the god is doing, as well as more difficult to bust through the phase chain. With all the daggers protected as well, it becomes more difficult to control this god, on top of silences already. Finally, Steal offers some PC to get rid of anything annoying.

In the thematic side of it, this god was basically created to represent an Assassin. Daggers, of course, are the main weapon of choice of the Assassin. Eclipse represents the darkest hours of night. An assassin's Cloak keeps him hidden from view, and he moves in complete Silence. Phase Shield just adds to the feeling of stealth and untouchability, while Steal represents yet another one of an Assassin's many skills. Twin Universe represents flexibility and adaptation, yet another important characteristic of the Assassin.

As for the theme of Outcasts, when I saw "Outcast", I immediately thought of Team Underworld from War. And what better way to represent the Lord of the Underworld than a Master Assassin?
I think it would be fun to play, any thoughts on how to improve it?

Wow...the only real creatures all require a 2-card investment to exist, and there's basically zero other offense.  You'll end up with an FG that spends many turns stalling with very little offense, giving your typical CCYB/CHMD-style rainbows lots of time to get themselves set up nicely.

Divine Glory is the same thing, except Glories cost even more. I could add other creatures to it, any ideas?

Also, Silence is there as well to make it difficult to set up.

A Silence Chain would make it a royal pain in the butt if it came at the beginning of the game.  Discarding sucks in CCYB/CHMD, because you need pretty much every card to make the deck work. 

Divine Glory also has 8 less cards and sometimes still dies because he doesn't draw enough swords/Animates in time.  Just sayin'.

Seems like the cloaks aren't adding much. I say drop all of them so that the false god can pull the things it really needs, which are silences at the beginning and then daggers and animates.

Brief description:

Well, first of all, Welcome back BloodShadow, as this is your first post where you're not pretending to be hacked since your hiatus ;)

Anyways, on topic, I'm not planning on removing too many similar cards from my version. Cloaked phase shields are difficult deal with, and mass creature protection is invaluable in this kind of deck. Phase shield chains are amazing when you can't target them without going through 2 layers, and silence offers too much of a threat to ignore.

I agree that there may be a few inconsistency issues with the deck, but hey, all False Gods have them.

It's not supposed to be impossible, unlike say Blitzkrieg, but it should offer a good challenge and be fun to play.

@Essence, I realize that silences would be annoying early game, but let's face it, it's annoying at any part of the game. That's part of the point and is part of what makes this god fun and challenging. Also, I relize that Divine Glory also has some inconsistency issues, but DG is also already a False God anyways, which Midnight is designed to be.

@Wizelsnarf Cloaks are a central part of the strategy too. Cloak over phase shields make it much more difficult to get your attacks in, since you need 2 layers of PC to bust through. Cloaked Vampire Daggers while Eclipse is out is just like having Vampire Glories, which helps the overall challenge of the deck. Since the god has a large amount of healing as well, it makes it more difficult to break through the stall.

Cause it IS a stall. It's not there to tank through like DG, but to defeat you, or outlast you.

Very nice. Well done! I'd get rid of Twin Universes, though. Less cards, more streamlined, and higher drop chance higher challenge, of course...  ;D
