Great at sieging, beating down the opponent, moving, obtaining money, but not so much in progressing in the game. They have an amazing card-denial skill, but that doesn't compare when it means it takes you longer than most other elements to reach the "Champion" skill of your element.

Ship Navigator must be reprashed to something like 5 hexes in 2 rounds.

Just a few ideas I conjured up for the missing '???' skill. ;)

Walking the Plank (Consumes a relic)
Target player must give you one of their items or X electrum, or else be sent to their capital city.

Plunder (passive)
When you defeat a player in a battle, you can take up to X% of the enemy's electrum.

Maelstrom (passive)
When you have 7 or more items in your inventory, players that enter the same hex as you cannot move.

Yeah the whole thing is still kind of "under construction". I'll see what I can do.

Cool ideas and fit nicely to the Pirate theme. I like the middle one the most because it's the easiest to organize. I'll put that in and we'll see what happens. Thanks!

I thought up a few more ideas for your 'Trade Routes' ability switch, seeing as you asked us earlier in chat for substitutes (why did it have to be changed again though?):

Cursed Gold:
If your current gold count is divisible by 10 before a battle, your opponent must discard 1 card afterwards (win or lose) for each upped card he uses in his deck.

Grog Chugging (2 AP + Relic):
You may use 4 additional upgraded cards on the first duel of your next battle, but you must then use 2 less upped cards on the remaining duels.

Fishbait (3 AP (+Relic?)):
Name an opponent. If the player attacks you the following turn, they cannot kill any of your creatures during that battle.

Reasons for replacing that skill are..

1. It's technically painful to make happen.
2. Potentially broken :electrum related skills might lead to early-game event economy fails, so the less of them we have, the better
3. It would be the 3rd :electrum related skill :water has. It might be better to have something more PvP orientated, after all, we are talking about pirates :)

Cursed Gold:
If your current gold count is divisible by 10 before a battle, your opponent must discard 1 card afterwards (win or lose) for each upped card he uses in his deck.

Fishbait (3 AP (+Relic?)):

The theme of Cursed Gold sounds a bit.. weird. Why would the number of gold you have, affect how much your opponent discards? :) I think it would be too easy to make sure Also, shouldn't it be renamed to "Cursed Electrum"? :)

Fishbait is not bad imo but won't stand a chance against..

Grog Chugging which I love! Awesome concept and a unique PvP related skill that the player him or herself controls. That's just the kind of skills we need.

Couple of thing though.. "chugging", is that a word that has been used for long or is it a more recent addition to the dictionary? I've never even heard of the word myself and I'm pretty sure that many other non-English native speakers haven't either. That's not automatically a deal-breaker but something more common might be better. It doesn't even have to be a verb. It could be like "*** Grog" or something.

I'm not all that convinced that you would need something as cool as a Relic to produce a terrible drink like Grog. :) Maybe it could be something that can be bought by anyone but only people with this skill can actually use it for their benefit?

As for the mechanics, I think you pretty much nailed it. Alternative version would be an effect where you get the bonus the day you use it (rounds are days in WoE) but will get the debuff the next day. But I think yours is probably more interesting.

Chugging is kinda like taking big gulps and drinking something really fast.

--Like in a drinking contest, you'll hear people say: "Chug! Chug! Chug!"--
(I guess that sounds kinda weird if you've never heard it....)

In regards to the reasons why Trade Routes are being switched out; yikes. ^^; Didn't realize that the electrum-gain issues could get that complicated...

Couple of thing though.. "chugging", is that a word that has been used for long or is it a more recent addition to the dictionary? I've never even heard of the word myself and I'm pretty sure that many other non-English native speakers haven't either. Like what majofa said, "Chugging" is the process of 'drinking something in large gulps'. - http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/chugging (second definition) I got the term from my supposed experience in college. :P

While I much prefer the idea of having the bonus be granted on the first duel (rather than a single day), I only put the relic in there to prevent exploitation, but I'm starting to think that requiring an item for this skill would be a little bit much. Steam Pirate already requires the discard of two cards, and this item would make :water elementals seem a little bit too reliant on items/cards in order to use their abilities. ^^; Just ditch the relic requirement, and thanks again for looking at these ideas. :)

I prefer the fishbait ability myself. There are already a ton of abilities that grant upgraded cards, and they give diminishing returns since you'll get the most effective upgrades first anyway. Fishbait otoh is an entirely new ability, that would give a very different feel to any battle where it comes into play.
