A decent defense tree. Most of their abilities pertain to their incapability to be kept out of the fight for long. If you attack their cities, you'll need alot more firepower than normal, since killing them does nothing if they have Relics. Their ability to remain aloof of all the offensive power the opponent has makes up for their lack of card-denial skills that Darkness, Gravity, and Water have, while the Skill-denial skill they have is ultimately one of the most amazing powers in the game. If you beat that player, they essentially become the weakest players in the game. If they lose all skills (let's assume they can still use a Mark), unless they have a deck that is insanely good (which begs the question of how they lost in the first place), they would practically be wearing a bulls-eye on their backs. I would even go so far as to say using this skill turns a player into "target practice" for other players. I'm worried at its power, since doing such a thing to a player will make them lose most of their cards due to discarding.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Why, yes. I do have a Mindgate necklace. It's how I ninja everyone.

Aether elementals need Energy Shaper; they have literally nothing else than defense and self-manipulation outside of that. The sitting duck effect is mostly what makes it useful, and since you go to the netherworld when you die, that's one turn shaved off of being skill-less. You could even stay dead if you wanted to (unless time there doesn't count for this purpose).

Kuro and I agreed on Outworlder not needing a Relic cost. It remains situational and rather weak even without it.

Situational and rather weak? It's any mark you want for just 1 action point!(if it get's changed like you want it to be) Granted, that isn't extremely powerful, but it would be too powerful for a Tier 1 skill. Now, I'll admit that requiring a relic as well as an action point is a bit much. But I don't think a relic by itself is too much to ask for.

Yes. Compare with Duplication. It's the very definition of situational since you need a specific situation for it to be useful. That means it's not going to happen often.
It could cost only 1 AP and still be less powerful than a lot of other Tier 1 skills. You have to plan for it as well.
Compare with Backstabber (Darkness), Curse of the Undead (Death), Rotting Disease (Death) or.. *shudder* Diversion (Entropy). Outworlder is nothing compared to these and more.

Nothing right now, or would still be nothing compared to them even if it were changed to a lesser cost?

Diversion? Well, at least we have the most unreliable transportation to compensate.  ;)

Outworlder doesn't seem worth the Relic - 1 AP should be enough.

IMHO Duplication seems near-useless with it's situationality, and Aether could probably use a good transport skill like teleportation, Phasing or something similar - every other faction except Underworld has a Tier 1 skill related to movement in some sort of way.

I changed Outworlder to:
2AP: Choose an element. You must use the mark of that element. Lasts 1 round.

So the change was removing the Relic cost, and increasing AP cost.

I'm a bit worried that it might be OP now, because being able to use any Mark, is no joke. But we'll see what happens.

I agree. We could call it something like.. Dimensional Walk? :)

lulz. Well, Dimensional Walk is very powerful fast travel. It's non-situational, cheap and has no drawback (unlike Death March, for instance). If I understand skill progression right, you need Evasion and Outworlder before you can get it, which means earliest is lvl 3. I'm fine with that, personally.

None of the Aether skills seem OP, obviously we don't know what the Champion skill is, but no worries about that.

One question I have though is about Doppelganger, is this skill really all that powerful? Are Parallel Universe cards going to be expensive or hard to get? Would it be too strong as a Tier 1 skill?

S'like the other skills that allow you to use a certain six upgraded cards without needing to own them; Supernova, Giant Frogs, Elite Shriekers, and Twin Universe are all common-rarity cards, but I think the point is that they are free upped cards, allowing you to use more upped cards in a deck. They're not bad cards, either. T2 sounds about right, I think.

Is there any chance we can get the current skill sets in the first post of their respective Skill Feedback threads? Might get more feedback that way.

Ah yes, I misread that.. Twin Universe (not Parallel Universe)... makes sense now..

In that case, Aether looks fine as is.

Are the two Aether players going to take different paths? .. perhaps one going mono and the other branching out to other elements?
