The "burn" technique is always useful. Also, brute strength is never depreciated. Fire spreads, and gives life, in some context. Perhaps the ability to create 6 Minor Phoenixes wouldn't be hated much, as a Tier 2 skill.
This was the
exact skill mechanic that was conceptualized before these trees were 'finalized' (a filler skill for
, actually, as we already had things like Doppelganger, Swap Dweller, Tremors, etc.); I feel kind of iffy regarding these 'you can get to use 6 of this awesome card for free!' skills, because they can be really generic and boring to use (even though they're useful). ^^;
That said, I think Exploding Heart should be: "...must discard cards equal to 50% of the number you've discarded.". This way, even the most 'offensive' elements that have major discarding abilities (Champion of Darkness skill anyone?) can feel the utter sting of them trying to demolish you outright, and the skill would also be scalable. Also, if Fireguard and Destroy had their abilities pseudo-merged (in that a Fireguard can either destroy a Forest Hex OR an enemy Improvement), then we can unlock a new Tier 2 skill for Fire that might destroy something of intermediate value (between relics and improvements/forest areas). It might be interesting if Fire elementals could actually destroy things like
money DIRECTLY from a battle...
