Topic Summary

There are very few cases of newbies that have a personal reason to post in this board, and that's because they simply aren't established in the community yet. Most cases will simply use this board as another way to get their post count higher by pretending they care about someone leaving.

As for making their own threads, it would be pointless as a new member has no influence on the community. We'd get a lot of topics about short vacations and the like that do not affect anyone.

Why can members , who are not Full Members, not reply ? They could also say "goodbye" to their mentor or sth like this...
Why shall new players not be able to open a thread here ?

What are the reason for these decisions ?
I also know from other forum software, that the allowance to reply and allowance to open threads are different rights.

It would be nice, if Staff Members could explain that to me.
SG originally added the 200 post limit to the farewell section because (s)he did not want new players coming in and posting Farewell topics like this. (my apologies for singling out someone)

However I think it is fair to allow newbies to reply to recent Farewell topics to an extent. (e.g. only topics on the first page can be replied to) I would PM the Administrators about it.

Is it possible to let the non-senior member to view and reply (or just view only) to the threads in the farewell section? Currently, the non-senior members can't view these thread and there might be some circumstances where it could be useful to them - e.g. the leaving member was participating in an event, the farewell topics includes some very useful stuff (e.g. dragoon's)

Done. Everyone except Guests can now view this board, and Full Members and up can post here. That means the restriction went from 500 posts to 200.

Too veterany for an introduce yourself topic, and I will never be leaving the forum, so I guess this is the only chance Ill have to say something.
I will only leave if i'm on my death bed, the forum goes away permanently,or the Internet fails.
qft

My life is aboutt as busy as I can see it getting. Working 30 hours a week, and then doing preparing a sunday school and wednesday night lesson for church. If I can do it all now, then I'll be fine 10 years from now as well.

edit...
although id probably demand a laptop while im on my deathbed so that I can post an epic finale to my ask bp thread

Psshh!  I will only leave once my body has decayed (most likely because of playing Decay too much).

Dedication to the max, friend!

I'm with you there, but not quite "to the death" kind of loyalty. I'd go up through college graduation, at max. After that It'd be too hectic for anything not related to RL.

This forum section is read-only for members who are not yet Full Members (200 posts).

If you are leaving the game or the forums, feel free to start a farewell topic here. Farewell topics started elsewhere will be moved here, and temporary absences should be posted in Off-topic Discussions.

Thanks for being a part of the community and see you later!
