OK,so the new Oracle now always predicts the next False God you might fight.  This opens up a huge opportunity for newbies to get a chance at upgraded cards on a regular basis, but of course, the definition of a newbie is that you don't have access to a lot of cards.

Thus, this thread: a study of exactly which cards you want to purchase *first* if you want to have the best chance at winning upgraded cards earliest.

See, many of the FGs have the same weaknesses -- several are vulnerable to some variation of mono-Aether, a few are vulnerable to some variation of Nymphomania, etc.  But which decks offer the BEST chance at winning cards from an FG right off the bat?

Here is the list of specific decks vs. specific gods. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,20701.0.html)  What follows here is simply the optimal order in which to buy the cards in order to win the most games with the least investment.

Here's the rough breakdown:

With these 30 cards:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61q 61q 61q 61q 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 8pu

You'll have a fighting chance against Dark Matter, Destiny, and Lionheart.

That's pretty damn good for a single unupped deck.

But it gets better.  Add just a few more:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
592 592 592 592 592 61o

And you add Seism and Jezebel to your kill list.

Jezebel doesn't have an unupped deck on the List&Links thread above, but I made her and I know her weaknesses. :)  The unupped deck to use against her is this one:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
592 592 592 592 592 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61q 61q 61q 61q 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 61v 8pm

The key is to use your first PA on your own Aether Towers (so she doesn't steal them and turn them into nasty 8/4 attackers), then your second on HER Quantum Pillars, then your third on her Water Pillars.  That pretty much jacks up her entire deck.  Use your Lightnings to kill off her early attackers, and your Phase Dragons should beat her down before whatever few Nymphs she pops get to you.  You generally will lose if she gets out an early Permafrost+Dagger combo, but the winrate is very good for an unupped+rareless deck. :)
Eight more:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f6 5f6 5f6 61s 61s 61s 61s 61s

And you can take on Neptune (as well as slightly improve your chances against Lionheart.)

And just five more --

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 5ia 61q

-- and you can take out Scorpio as well.

The next step is slightly smaller,  but only slightly.

Snag yourself another seven cards:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
592 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r

To put Hecate on your hitlist, and just four more:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
621 621 621 621

To add Hermes.

Already, you can build the unupped/no rares decks that will give you the best possible shot against 8 gods: Dark Matter, Destiny, Hecate, Hermes, Lionheart, Neptune, Scorpio, and Seism.  All of them are basically variations on a theme: "Dimension Shield kicks ass." :)

Now, it's time to go for a larger step away from that central theme, but still keep it fairly straightforward.

Purchasing these cards:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5lg

Will put Elidnis, Fire Queen, Ferox, and Miracle within your reach, and adding just a few more:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5jm 5jm 5jm

Also puts Morte on your hitlist.  We're up to 13 FGs -- a third of the total list -- and only 80 cards purchased, for a total of 3,269 electrum.  At this point, you should be able to start counting on winning 1 or 2 upped cards each week just from farming the FGs that the Oracle tells you about.

The next step, however is a big one, and I'll save it for later -- for now, this is the optimal route for a new player to start consistently winning upgraded cards.

OK time for the next big step in FG killing.  This requires an entire new 30-card base deck:

Code: [Select]
50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 606 606 606 606 606 606 606
This deck is a great deck against Akebono, Gemini, and while not the best possible deck according to the List&Links thread, can hold it's own quite well against Ferox as well.

The next modification in line requires a lot of cards, but in spirit, at least, the idea is the same.  It's just for use against FGs that have creature control -- so it uses the spells themselves instead of Nymphs.

Code: [Select]
4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 606 606 606 606
NOTE: I'm departing from the List&Links decks for Rainbow and Obliterator, and in order to maintain a minimum electrum investment while maintaining a fighting chance against these decks, I'm advocating using this deck against both:

Code: [Select]
4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 5uu 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606Ideally, you'll have the resources to buy Pillars rather than Pendulums and use the decks listed in the List&Links thread eventually, but for now, this deck will give you a good enough win percentage that it's not worth investing in all that other stuff.

So, we've added 46 new cards, and five new gods to our hitlist, all for a cost of 1,243 electrum (4,361 total so far.)  Unfortunately, it only gets less efficient from here.  We'll talk about that later, though.  For now, go master the power of Antimatter+Liquid Shadow and win some more upped cards!  :)

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

OK, so at this point, we have only a few decks that even use any of the same cards we already have.

We start by spending 802 more electrum buying the deck for to kill Incarnate:

Code: [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vd 4vd 4vd 4vd 4vd 4vo 4vo 4vo 5f5 5f5 5f5 5l9 5l9 5l9
Which also allows us to buy only 5 more cards for to also kill Graviton (note that this is to finish JohannHowitzer's 'experimental' deck (version 7) in the middle of the Graviton thread; I'm not sure why majofa hasn't frontpaged it, because it works for me. :)

Code: [Select]
4vf 4vf 4vf 621 621

Now, this will let us build a deck to kill Paradox:

Code: [Select]
5if 5if 5if 5if 5la 5la 5lk 5lk 5lk 5lk 622 622 622 622 622
...which in turn gives us most of the tools we need to kill Divine Glory!  The remainder are right here:

Code: [Select]
5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5lj 5lj 5lj 5lj

...And finally, we have the bulk of a pair one-off decks specifically for Octane:

Code: [Select]
4ve 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bt 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c4 5c4 5c4 5c4 5c4 5c4 5c7 5c7 5c7 5c7
And Decay:
Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 55q 55q 55q 55q 5f6 5f6 5ut 5ut 5ut 5ut

That's a whopping 4,262 electrum in this step, for a total of :electrum 8,623 all together.  Still, at this point we're ready to take on an amazing 24 out of the 29 Fake Gods, which is simply phenomenal. In fact, thus far, the only gods we can't take on are Eternal Phoenix, Osiris, and Serket -- whom we CAN fight -- and Chaos Lord and Dream Catcher, who are simply too powerful to take on unupgraded at all.  Those first four require very specific and in come cases bizarre decks to defeat; we'll cover those next time.  In the meantime, good hunting!
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

OK, there are no more shared cards anymore.  You're going to have to buy an entire deck for each new Fake God you'd like to add to your hitlist.  Keeping in mind that at the moment Chaos Lord and Dream Catcher are entirely out of the realm of possibilty for unupgraded decks (though if a deck is discovered for them, be sure I'll add it here) -- these are the last cards you need to buy to finish up your unupgraded FG killer collection, listed from least to most expensive.

Serket:
Code: [Select]
5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5of 5of 5of 5of 5of 5oo 5oo 5oo 5oo 5oo 5oo 5rr 5rr 5rr 5rr 5rr
Eternal Phoenix:
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52k 52k 52k 52k 52k 52k 52n 52r 52r 52r 52r 5oh 5oh 5oh 5oh 5oh 5oh
Osiris (OK, so I lied, you don't have to buy the Photon.  Cope. :P ):
Code: [Select]
55p 55p 55p 55p 55p 5l9 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rk 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5up 5up 5up 5up 5up 5up 5us 5us 5us

27 of the 29 False Gods are now yours to pwn, with no rares and no upgrades required.

Good hunting!

Hmmm I like.
Keep up the good work, I will come back later when I dont have burning fish and tell you what I think. Well ok I might have a few more minutes than I thought, try to make things a little more simple for newbies. Explain how to play against each of the gods you list, I understand you are most likely working on this.
