| CARD DESIGN CHALLENGE | |
Welcome to another Card Design Challenge! Every other week, Card Curators will host a card design challenge with a certain theme or gimmick. During those 2 weeks, your goal is to design the best card you can that works with the challenge! Once those 2 weeks are up, a new Card Design Challenge will start and the current challenge will go into the Voting Phase! The winners of each poll will be awarded points.
For every
25 Card Design Challenge points, designers will obtain the
Card Design Challenge Award !
The current points of designers can be found on the
Leaderboard!

This week's challenge is to Make a card which best represents its element!
RulesSpoiler for Specific Rules:
Create a thematic, balanced and appropriate card that best represents the element it is in. This can be interpreted as an actual conceptual link such as Flame being in
Fire or a mechanical link where a card mechanic is placed in an element you feel that element embodies.
Submit your card idea using the code below. Card submissions which do not follow the format below will not be considered. Do not put art in your card. Do not submit more than one card. Submit the upgraded and unupgraded.Any and all tools required for submissions can be found
HERE, the Smithy.
Submit your ideas in this thread - whether or not you make a separate thread for your card idea for Cygnia is up to you.

Spoiler for Haphazard | Haphazard:
| |
NAME: | Haphazard
| ELEMENT: | Entropy
| COST: | N
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | N | N
| TEXT: | Each N is randomised between 1 and 15 each turn. N:entropy : Use a random ability.
|
| NAME: | Haphazard
| ELEMENT: | Entropy
| COST: | N-1
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | N | N
| TEXT: | Each N is randomised between 1 and 15 each turn. N:entropy : Use a random ability.
|
|
ART: |
| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | Each N is independent of each other and is determined randomly at the end of every turn on an individual basis.
Random ability means any active ability seen anywhere in the game.
When the card is in your hand, the displayed quanta cost will be shown numerically but will still change every turn.

Spoiler for Outbreak | Epidemic:
| |
NAME: | Outbreak
| ELEMENT: | Death
| COST: | 15
| TYPE: | Spell
| ATK|HP: |
| TEXT: | Inflict poison on a random creature. Spreads to another creature after two turns.
|
| NAME: | Epidemic
| ELEMENT: | Death
| COST: | 12
| TYPE: | Spell
| ATK|HP: |
| TEXT: | Inflict poison on a random opponent's creature. Spreads to another creature held by the opponent after two turns.
|
|
ART: | none
| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | If the creature affected dies before the two turns are up, the outbreak/epidemic ends. I honestly think this best represents death without being ludricously OP. (a card that just kills creatures on sight would just be unfair.)

Spoiler for Hidener | Elite Hidener:
| |
NAME: | Hidener
| ELEMENT: | Earth
| COST: | 15
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | 10 | 4
| TEXT: | If targeted, Hidener becomes burrowed instead.
|
| NAME: | Elite Hidener
| ELEMENT: | Earth
| COST: | 15
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | 12 | 4
| TEXT: | If targeted, Hidener becomes burrowed instead.
|
|
ART: |
| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | Rule: If targeted, cancel the effects of target and Hidener becomes burrowed isntead.
It seems similar to Phase Dragon except that Hidener does interacts with targeting actions causing it to burrows and loses half of its attack in the process.
Hidener almost invulnerability makes it great in any deck except you do have to take note of its high costs.

Spoiler for Rot | Rot:
| |
NAME: | Rot
| ELEMENT: | Death
| COST: | 2
| TYPE: | Spell
| ATK|HP: |
| TEXT: | Sacrifice a creature to inflict poison counters on the opponent equivalent to its attack.
|
| NAME: | Rot
| ELEMENT: | Death
| COST: | 1
| TYPE: | Spell
| ATK|HP: |
| TEXT: | Sacrifice a creature to inflict poison counters on the opponent equivalent to its attack.
|
|
ART: |
| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | Works like immolation. Using this on antimattered creatures simply kills the creature without adding poison counters, because adding purify counters don't make sense thematically. Might have to up cost a bit.

| ELEMENT: | Water
| COST: | 3
| TYPE: | Spell
| TEXT: | Target non pillar/pendulum card's ability is now "generate every turn", remove all previous abilities

| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | Water
Water is the element of fluidity. It adapts to any situation, just as water changes form (ice, water, steam) or changes shape to fit in whatever container it is put in.
This card is a card with different uses and can be useful in most every situation. It can be used: - Extra quanta generation for you by using on a permanent or creature you own - Lobotomy when used on enemy creatures - The only way (if introduced to the EtG game) to remove the ability of an enemy permanent (or just permanents in general)

Spoiler for Phase Echo | Elite Phase Echo:
| |
NAME: | Phase Echo
| ELEMENT: | Aether
| COST: | 3
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | 2 | 6
| TEXT: | Copy target's active ability that require quanta on play; replace is cost with the same amount of quanta
|
| NAME: | Elite Phase Echo
| ELEMENT: | Aether
| COST: | 3
| TYPE: | Creature
| ATK|HP: | 2 | 7
| TEXT: | Copy target's active ability that require quanta on play; replace is cost with one quanta
|
|
ART: |
| IDEA: |
| NOTES: | A lot of players think that aether is based only on immortality and phase shields; aether has 3 cards (mindgate, parallel universe and fractal) that copy a card or create multiple copies. This card is based on copying the "active" ability of a creature and transforming is cost in .
This means that if i target an unupped crusader with the unupped phase echo, i get a phase echo with:
Endow
If i copy an unupped crusader with the elite phase echo, i get a elite phase echo with
Endow
U can't use the copied skill in the same turn u cast this card (like any other creature), u can't copy active ability that require no cost because:
1- it can be a problem choose the ability to copy with devourers/pests, since they have 2 ability (burrow and scavenger), same for scarabs 2- copying abilities like any kind of poison, vampire can be a little too strong matched with fractal (and yes, blame fractal for only 2 attack).
About the upgrade version: i know that only +1 HP and reduce any ability's cost to one is not so strong, but i can' increase the atk (fractal), can't drop the cost (with only 2 u can play it with a snova in rainbow).
