Welcome to the Weekly Card Design Challenge! Each week, the Curators will host a card design challenge with a certain theme or gimmick; for the rest of the week, your goal is to design the best card you can that works with the challenge! Once that week is up, a new weekly challenge will start and the current challenge will go into the Voting Phase! The winners of each poll will be awarded points; your current score can be found on the Monthly Leaderboard!

Each month, the top 1-3 players on the Monthly Leaderboard will get a cool award icon, depending on the number of people that participated.

The card must draw a card. In what manner it does that is up to you.
For it to draw, it must be from the deck.
SoSe is not valid, as it creates instead of draws.

Provides a twist on the SoBr mechanic.
It provides a means of more constant streams of cards, but also could inflict serious damage in the process.
Should would well with cards like mind gale (just added to cygnia) and rewind.

The damage dealt is calculated as √(cost +1) for unupgraded and √(cost + 3) for upgraded. (i.e. square root of cost +1 / cost +3)

The damage dealt is spell damage, so reflective shields will interact.

(I went with "shin" because that was the name chosen for the [ :fire , :time ] hybrid... there was no card back yet so I just went with a forced duo instead)

This card replaces the drawing mechanic - it is NOT in addition to the single card drawn by default. The amount of cards drawn is 3-N (three minus "N") where N is the number of cards drawn by your opponent on the previous go.

Spoiler for Examples:
Take Entanglement. Your opponent normally draws 1 card, so instead of drawing 1 by default, you draw 2 (because N is 1, hence 3-1=2). So normally you draw 2 cards on your turn. Nice advantage.

However - say your opponent also plays Precognition on their turn, and draws another card. They drew 2 cards on that go - Precog and the deafult. 3-2=1, so you only draw 1 card.

Say your opponent is Lionheart and spams Electrum Hourglass like a woodpecker. Say he somehow draws 20 cards total in that turn. 3-20=-17. Obviously you can't draw negative seventeen cards, so you just draw nothing instead.

Spoiler for The Exception:
The only time you would draw the full 3 cards that Entanglement can bestow is if your opponent also has Entanglement. Say you draw 2 cards with Entanglement, then use Precog a couple time such that you drew 4 cards in total. Your opponent then draws 0 cards on their go. 3-0=3, so you draw 3 cards. Yay!

However, this causes a horrible imbalance in which one player draws no cards and the other draws three. So in this case I'd add an exception to the Entanglement rule, in which two Entanglements cancel each other out, leaving each player to draw one card as per usual.

However, I'd also amend that such Entanglements cancel each other out on a one-to-one ratio. So, if both players have one Entanglement each, they cancel. However, if one player has 1 and the other has 2, the player with the most Entanglements receives the Entanglement effect, and the other player draws as per default despite that they have an Entanglement.

If anyone can think of a way to put this on the card I'd very much appreciate it.

Name because it's like the actions of the two players are intertwined. It was Quantum Entanglement | Quantum Spookiness but Quanta is already a thing in Elements so I removed that.

Strategies:

Synergy with Chimera. Courier Flag|Banner is also a good splash card (card that requires only the mark to be played) in decks with many cheap, but cost-effective attackers (e.g: Minor Phoenix, Graviton Guard, Abyss Crawler).
A good strategy when you have only one creature on your field is to wait until you have a sufficient amount of creatures in your deck, then when they start clogging your hand, play them all.

I think the greed counters should be their own cards and / or you should explain what they do on the Dark Draw card itself. This would make it a bit easier to understand for players so they wouldn't have to just figure out what was going on for themselves.
Other than that I really like that card idea!
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
