Nicely done SG.
My main concerns:
Series - How about "series" cards, just like alchemy series? I thought we have to do it like Scyther, seperate threads which the topics reads "XXX series: XXX / XXX". But we can't do so by rule 2.
I was actually thinking about this today.
The thing is that I would like to keep the titles as simple as possible so that it's easier to find what you are looking for. However I do understand that these "series" or "sets" would be great to good to have.
We could do it like this:
"Pig / Elite Pig - Farm Series"
But there should be some rules regarding what "series" actually is. Otherwise we will have a bunch of single cards that belong to a "series" when the card maker got bored and didn't finish them.
We could have a system where a full series has 12 cards, one per element, and you could start calling it "series" after you finish the 6th card.
Also all the cards in the series should be somehow related, gameplay wise, graphics, whatever.
What do you think?
Generator - You said "the" Card Image Gen. So it is Planplan's Gen ONLY? My Code Gen is almost completed so I will work on the Card Gen. Would you see how both of our Gens works out and decide if both of them can be made "Official"?
Lets say we have 10 card image generators, each producing identical images, but each with a different UI. It would be a nightmare to users because they have to learn how to use them all, and each time you launch one, you'd have to spend a second thinking "Now how did THIS version work?".
With 2 generators it's not as bad as with 10, but the principle stays the same. Unless these generators offer something different, I see no point in making two of them official. This is not a competition, and we shouldn't use multiple generators just because they are available.
Lets see how the finished products turn out. You using php puts you instantly in a disadvantage because the image quality isn't as good as with flash. Then again with flash it might be a bit more difficult to code, and Planplan might lose his mind and delete everything, solving this problem once and for all.
Like I said, it all comes down to whether the alternative version actually offers something new, in which case we will use it. If it does the same exact thing, but only differently, I see no point in using it.
