Agreed. I've been using one Plague for ages, in my experience the most common way of losing is not drawing Thunderstorms and Plague is almost equivalent. Today I figured I'd update my build and check the thread while I'm at it, here's what I'll be trying out for now:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
710 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 714 714 714 714 717 717 719 719 719 71b 71b 71b 71b 71b 7n1 7n1 7n1 7n1 7n1 8pr

As long as you draw a Bone Wall and a couple of sweepers you can stall forever, so delaying the win shouldn't matter too much. After the first sweep Plagues are often better than storms, since they'll also kill all the Ashes after their rebirth. I'd also like an additional Tower but there isn't a lot of room to play with.

Bonestorm. Laggy but effective.

So bonestorm has failed me for a few times now (probably lost with it more than I won) so I decided to try and use pillarless splat. Little did I know that the deck on hand was not splat at all. I went up against EP with mono entropy.

Spoiler for I won:

I lost with the non-upped Bonestorm as well and I think I know why. My draw was good, but I played the cards wrong.
Here's what I should have done instead:
  • The first card that should come out is bone wall.
  • After that: Bone yard.
  • Once you have those in place, you can start playing vultures or killing his creatures with thunderstorm.

Its no use playing thunderstorm early, even with boneyard and vultures. In the late game, his fractal will destroy any bone wall you can put up. If you lose your bone wall in the late game, you will have to wait until you can put it up with a combo:
  • bone wall
  • thunderstorm

I guess I won't be seeing EP in a while again, but let me know if you find this strategy valuable.

What Jonny is saying makes sense.  The thunderstorm/death deck works most of the time (not sure what my record is, but I think I've only had 1 loss with it) but you have to play it correctly; you can't just drop stuff as you draw it and expect a good win rate.  It takes more thinking and timing to do it properly, which is why I like this particular deck.

In 1.32, things will change a bit; thunderstorm will kill ruby dragons as well, but it will cost 1 more quanta, though that shouldn't really be a problem even in unupped.  It might be worth considering using desiccation/dry spell, but the extra water quanta won't really be able to do anything other than ensure future desiccations are guaranteed playable.  If someone can think of a use for suddenly pulling a couple dozen water quanta out of your ass with this deck, it might be worth taking into consideration, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head that doesn't hurt the rest of the efficiency of this deck.

Unupped TStorm cost 3 which is too much.

Upped can still use TStorm (with new Desi's cost being 4)

Does not work, because Dry Spell kills your Vultures.

Unupped Tstorm is still fine IMO, I've gotten EP 3 times since 1.32 came out and won 2/3 of them (misplayed the last one). I find that he doesn't really rush enough monsters out to deal enough damage to kill you before 3 turns and if he does, you got unlucky in terms of cards. Being able to take down Ruby Dragon in 1 hit is really useful also as if you don't have Bone Wall up, it's 15 less swing damage which is pretty substantial (and hopefully you get a Bone Wall before he rebirths his Phoenixs, which is irrelevant to whether or not you can cast Tstorm at that point I find).
