DECK IDEAS

:entropy Zeru
:fire Hyroen

:entropy Kurohami
:fire Lava Golem

Zeru, Kurohami
Poison Bone Wall - One of our two preferred decks against Fire. We will run two of them this round, since they are unlikely to be able to counter both and splitting 1-1 with them heavily favors us because their Vault is much smaller. We might even win both games because Zeru's upped poison could power through Purify (which they might splash into a Nova deck).

1. Entropy Rush +RT - This deck might be called "old reliable" against Fire. It nicely counters any of their creature-rush decks, and they've lost most of their stalls in previous rounds. Probably worth playing in at least one of the two upcoming battles. One weak point is that Fire will be fully expecting it.

:entropy vagman13
:air pervepic

:entropy 10 men
:air QuantumT

 -

1. Poison Bone Wall - A very good deck in general, and a tough one for Air to stop if they're unprepared.

2. Darkness Rainbow - Powered by Devourers as well as Pendulums, and packing the punch of Black Dragons. A good deck all-round; hits through Wings and includes PC to boot. Denial with Discord and the Devourers is also a nice element.

3. Scrambled Shriekers + PC - Making sure there are extra Deflags, our standard Shrieker Rainbow should do decently against Air in several cases.

:entropy Amilir
:life Gl1tch

:entropy Nyma
:life killsdazombies

 -

1. Aether Stall - Dimensional Shields and Quintessence on Purple Dragons. Overall a strong deck against Life, not one they can really counter. They could wait it out with enough healing, maybe ... but good timing on the Dimensional Shields should remove that risk.

:entropy Sir Valimont
:death Malduk

 -

1. Entropy Rush +RT - Reverse Time works well against Death's rainbow, that they may well play. A versatile and capable deck by any measure.

:entropy SnoWeb
:underworld ji412jo

 -

1. Rainbow Poison - It's too bad that we don't have Chrysaoras for this one, although we can still salvage 1 or 2 at the cost of Lightning and Quintessence this round. It doesn't look like Underworld has any ability to counter poison, making this deck appealing.

2. Rainbow Black Hole - Black Hole stacks up nicely against Underworld given that their decks are so rainbow-oriented. If this deck can beat an Entropy-Darkness duo handily, we should use it. Testing required.

:entropy xKelevra
:gravity girlsgeneration

 -

1. Wings - This deck is situational. Gravity has no Chargers, Titans, or Momentum left and their creatures don't fly. Antimatter is a nice counter to anything big that might get through Wings, and Shockwaves remove Scorpions that might find a stray Momentum themselves. Probably impossible for Gravity to counter.

2. Lightning Rush - Lightning is good CC against Gravity because the 5 damage destroys Chargers. Paired with attacking Entropy creatures, this deck would fair well except against poison ... which Gravity may well use.

3. Antimatter Stall - Normally an excellent choice against Gravity, whose maximum possible deck against us will be 32 cards; but of course poison is the one problem, and they may well use it against us. Risky but if they don't use poison basically an auto-win.

Thoughts about the matchups:

- Fire: Best news first, I'm pretty sure they've lost all their stalls by now. DimShield, Wings, Poison... all in the trash can. On the other hand, Poison stall is not a 100% safe choice against them as they do have Purifies in their Vault. A very good choice however, should be Entropy-Time. It's only bad against their Fractal decks, which are upped and can't be used by their foot soldiers. Another possible choice is Scrambled Shriekers, though for Zeru only. Unupped its matchup is pretty bad against their rainbows, but with Elite Shriekers it should be able to power through, especially if they weaken their deck with Purify.

- Air: By now, they don't have a rainbow left. So possible good choices are Nova-Darkness and Scrambled Shriekers. But basically anything with Discord should be good.

- Life: They've lost both their rainbows last round... meh, another matchup for our Discords... They still have a bunch of DimShields though, so PC is probably needed.

The others ... are relatively predictable, with all of them having a good likelyhood to field a (near-)suicider. We should first decide on our other decks.

I like 10 men's points and I want to add one thing: We should be deciding on our Underworld matchup early. It's a battle we absolutely must win, and the salvage is going to be incredible.

We should take a moment to figure out exactly what cards teams like :gravity and Underworld have left so we can build perfect decks to beat them. As important as it is to focus on our strong opponents, our overall record is going to be the most important thing this round. If we can guarantee 2-3 victories against weaker teams, we'll be set.

Underworld will play:
A rainbow with denial elements (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16883.0.html)
Entropy-Darkness (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16943.0.html)
A reject-rainbow made of Quantum Pillars and their salvages. (semi-suicide)
Does DiscordBH win against Entropy Darkness?
edit: Something like this maybe?
Code: [Select]
4ve 4vh 4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vl 4vl 4vl 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 55l 55t 55t 55t 55t 55v 55v 55v 55v 55v 590 5c1 5og
More edit: Gravity has a Gravity-Life deck (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16871.0.html) they used last round and I'm not sure if they can make another deck, I'm a sceptic. We should concentrate on the Life deck.

:fire beat 2 decks last round that give them salvaging access to Nova-Graboid and an Entropy duo as well. I think they could very well try a Scrambled Shriekers variant against us this round. We should be wary of that.

Note also that any time Fire uses a rainbow deck against us they will probably throw in a Purify or two, having been hit twice in a row with our Poison Bone Wall deck.

Here's an Ent-Fire deck I made with the possible salvages of this round:
Code: [Select]
4vc 4vd 4vd 4vd 4ve 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vn 4vn 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 5f4 5f4 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fc 5fcLots of control, Fire Bolts are obviously thrown at creatures for the most part, Maxwell + Rage Pot will get any creature down, Phoenix is a persistant beater. It tested pretty well so far, I think we can play it against Life or Gravity.

About our Death matchup: Can we still play the deckouter? The maximum number of cards Death can play this round is 37 and their only real deck left is Nova-Graboids, which the deckouter has already won against, so...

I'm really pretty skeptical about Fire-Entropy duos. They only work in some situations, cost us salvage, and don't supply us with cards that help us in multiple decks. I'd rather use the Fire-Air deck we beat last round for conversion while taking useful rainbow cards from other decks as our salvage ... I'm just afraid of making our Vault too scattered which will weaken it. I don't think Fire-Entropy presents chances to beat opponents that we don't already have with other decks ...

The nice thing about Fire is that it has both permanant and creature control, and taking another creature we can use (Phoenix) takes pressure from our Entropy creature base. Also I don't really worry we might not find other stuff to discard...

Here's a deck that I think we can use against Life:
Code: [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vf 4vf 4vf 4vf 500 500 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 621 621 621 621 63a 63a 63a 63aWe haven't used a deckouter in a long while, so they probably won't take much more than 30 cards. They also don't have PC left. The deck wins either by deckout (first stall with Shields, then with quinted Nymphs while you lobo dangerous creatures) or by quinting some Dragons and fly over them (against the Fire Stall). Good thing is that the deck doesn't use Discords.

Here's a first draft of what I could imagine us to play this round:
Fire: Entropy-Time (Kurohami), Scrambled Shriekers with upped Graboids and two Stilettos replacing Discord (Zeru)

Air: Poison, NovaDarkness

Life: Scrambled Shriekers, Aether Stall (Amilir will probably have to play the latter because Nyma doesn't have Nymphs)

Death: Deckouter

Gravity: Entropy-Fire

Underworld: Gravybow.

Based on discussion with them and their current state, I am about 70% sure Death will sacrifice against me. Partly for that reason, and partly because a deckouter at this stage is so completely unpredictable and therefore powerful, I'd like to at least consider a deckouter against someone other than Death. Fire comes to mind. I'm not sure I like what we've lined up for them, especially not the SS which is not that hard for them to beat with any kind of standard Fire rush.

I actually wouldn't mind using two Bone Wall Poison stalls against Fire this round ... I think the worst we could do would be 1-1.

I'm not sure if we can seriously deckout Fire... they throw Deflags into most of their decks, so that's gonna be really hard. The problem with the deckouter is that pretty much every element other than Death has a counter to it (Life: their FireStall and probably the FFQ deck too, Air: their EQ-Deck, Gravity: has Momentum creatures that don't die to chaos seed effects and poisonous creatures, UW: has... a lot)
I think Zeru would have a good chance with Scrambled Shriekers even against their rush... Elite-Graboids are pretty insane.

That is the question... they have at least two Purify. If they use Immo Phoenix and throw one or two Purify in, who wins?
