Nope, not a bad nerf. Does anyone remember the AI? Well, I played a custom round in trainer with a false god using my deck compromised of SNs and Ns.
Well, Whaddya know, he pulls out the 4 supernovae at once, and i get 3 singularity.
Good nerf, especially if the AI stays like this.

Did you mean the AI gets 3 singularities?

And I guarantee that the AI will be fixed during this patch as well.

pretty sure it is already fixed. AI will now only play 1 SN per turn

Personally, I'd prefer this take a different approach to a nerf. I feel the problem can be more cleanly adressed without destroying nova rush decks. Having a card clog up your hand to prevent overuse seems like a poor way to do so. So, I advocate two changes.

First, nova is left alone. The card, though useful, is already weak, adding further conditions on producing 1 quantum effectively destroys the card.

Second, for supernova, we change the generation slightly. Instead of generating 2 quantum for each element, it would produce 2 quantum in all elements, except  :entropy. No singularity produced.

The change fixers the majority of issues with the card without actively ruining its rush potential. First, the card is no longer self powering, producing only 2  :entropy will not suffice to power all of your supernovas. Second, though it achieves the same effect of singularities (putting a hard limit on how many times you can use the effect), it is a less ham fisted solution, which can still be used in rush decks if planned for correctly.

I would have loved to see the idea tiscooler posted before the nurf suggestion...maybe it was?

I don't think nova really had any problems and the way tiscooler posted SN be fixed would have been nerf enough...and would have probably inspired a few dozen new strategies for rainbow decks to change without fading away.

IMO, removing the 2 :entropy from the SN effect would be a much bigger nerf. It would be almost as making it (the "old" SN) cost 4 :entropy and that is too much.
I agree Nova was perfectly fine, the nerf is meaningless. Even with 6 Novas in a 30 card deck, the chances to draw 3 within the stating hand are low.

I think the nerf of supernova is a good thing beacause most of decks are rainbow decks.
Several decks are very powerful against FGs but not very used beacause not well-known
due to the fact they are not rainbow.

A couple of the more used decks are duos actually.  Poison dials and i gotp time for example. Sure there are a couple more i'm forgetting as well.

Just because I feel complainy today, I'm disappointed that N/SN got nerfed and not Black Hole. The nerf was a little heavy handed, also. Maybe if the singularity created were half as big, or strong, or whatever?

For supernovas, the singularity starts at -7/5.  I'm told the one created by novas is -1/3 or something like that, but I've never actually seen one in-game yet.  I'm alright with the change, and with a little creativity you can even make use of the singularities on occasion.  I've mutated, cremated, and nightmared them, eaten them with chimera, etc.  As for nerfing black hole, the problem is that while it completely dominates rainbows and dominates when put into arena decks with 3x mark/2x draw, it's kinda lousy in pvp if the opponent is using a mono.  (it's also a subject for another thread)

In playing the Arena I've noticed that an opponent can play both a Nova and a Supernova without a singularity. Is this intended?

I notice you can play two novae, generating two of each quantum.
Likewise, you can play one supernova, generating two of each quantum.

However, a nova and a supernova generates three of each quantum, and seems to be in disagreement with the nerf.

The nerf is:
You can't use three Novas in a turn.
You can't use two Supernovas in a turn.

As long as you only use two Novas and/or one Supernova, you're safe. The limitation for Singularity is separated from the upped and unupped form.
