Fun card to play with, but not against. Druids are still better imo, since they still deal damage! I love mutations though, especially on those 1/1 skeleton masses.

This card is very useful if you are making an entropy deck without putting in any life quanta. It allows you to turn weak photons or other small creatures into a powerful dragon. The unupgraded version doubles as cheap and fast (but risky) creature control.

If you do this, you'll likely want to play quintessence on your druid, which means you'll need a rainbow/tri-color deck fora druid to be effective.

The unupped version is better because if you get a mutant, there are more chances that you get a dragon or a nymph.

The upgraded and the unupgraded version are two different cards.
Unupgraded is useful when you want to make a big creature(massive dragon) 'only' a 5|5, directly kill it or make a creature with nasty abilities(pharaoh) something funny and controllable.

Upgraded mutation will get you an average(yes, I worked out an average) 5|6 mutant with nice abilities!

The probability of getting a dragon out of improved mutation is 1/7.45 while only
1/18.63 with simple mutation.

i dont really mind that much about the odds of what you get. i just think that these two cards are great fun to play with and are usable in many a successful tactic. i wish there were more cards like it :)

I hate how they now changed it so that you can't get fate eggs from mutation.    Anyone know when they made that change?

Upped Mutation makes a creature with "steal" skill, awesome

From the wiki: Mutants also can not take the form of the following creatures: Chimera, Fate Egg, Devonian Dragon, Scarab, and Immortal.

Is this all accurate? I understand Chimera and Scarab, and sort of get Fate Egg and Immortal.

But why in the world can Devonian Dragons not be mutants? In terms of base cards, they have exactly the same stats and cost as Black Dragon, Purple Dragon and Bone Dragon.

I think the Devon is a time period, which is about 359 - 416 million years ago ( and Silurian 416-443), which means that the Devonian Dragon and the Silurian Dragon are very old dragons. This could be a reason, why they can´t be the result of mutation.

whaaaat!?!?!?
you're implying that they can't be result of a mutation because they're too old?
maybe you mean that evolutioning speaking, a mutation is a new patern on an individual that isn't really intended for adapting, but may be heritable.
but this is more like a sci-fi kind of mutation, a insta-mutation, as we see in game like a skill

I've gotta say, this is my favorite card to play around with. Many a night were spent mutating random creatuers to see what would happen.

Nah, Mitosis for 1 fire quanta.

The best I ever had, was 20+ dmg (I think it was 24) Golden Dragon with an ability of 1  :light for Skyblitz.
