The upgraded version makes it usuable in non-mono decks. Usually end-match rainbows have lots of quantoms to drain from, so it can help.

With the same amount of Quantum or Amethyst Towers the Shield can even absorb 2 damage more, because the mark is worth 3 damage (only 1 with the Field). Just 2 damage, but the could save you ;). However each used quanta for other cards will reduce your max possible damage absorb by 3 and not only by 1 like with the Field.

And I dont know how it really works unupped. Does it round for each Monster or in total?
For example you have 2 monster(10 and 4 damage).

Is it:
10/3 = 3,333 --> 3 quanta +
4/3 = 1,333 --> 1 quanta
= 4 quanta

Or:
(10+4)/3 = 4,666 --> 5 quanta

I dont know, whether it keeps the position after decimal point for each monster in mind(1,333 + 3,333=4,666) and rounds after or not.
The difference is at most just 1 with 2 monsters, but 1 unequal 0 and with further monsters the difference could increase.

20 monster with 4 damage

4/3 = 1,333 --> 1 quanta * 20 = 20 quanta
or
(4 * 20)/3 = 26,66 --> 27 quanta

No.

10/3=3.333 -> 4 quanta +
4/3= 1.333 -> 2 quanta

so 6 quanta are absorbed

Damage is dealt / absorbed per creature and rounded up per creature.

20 monsters with 4 damage ->  40 quanta absorbed.

it's a pain in the ass when they have this and play it with >100 entropy quanta >_<
soooo annoying - especially when they get down to <10 HP's then play it ¬.¬

Is it just me, or do AIs only ever seem to get this card when:

1. They have LOADS of quanta, but no cards to use it all on.

2. One annoyingly difficult to kill creature that'll gradually whittle down your hp in an annoying fashion.

3. Less than 10hp, with no known way to heal.

Am I the only one who's noticed this? Cos it get's irritating XD

So this card self-destructs when its owner's Entropy quanta is gone, not all of their quanta (for the upped)?  Not how I expected it to function, but I guess otherwise it'd be too easy to pummel opponents that play this by using a denial deck.

Personally, I don't think that this shield is that great. In regular decks, this will strip you of all your quanta for a couple damage reduced.

I lovethis card, I just made a mono-entropy deck study that ran 3 of them. PvP1 this card is the bomb!

I find this card to be useful, but I think it would be even more useful if it had a turn on/turn off function.  That way, if you're in a pinch for quanta, you can turn it off and conserve your shield/generate quanta for a couple of turns.  The only question would be cost to reactivate it.

In my opinion, the worst entropy card. It consumes a lot of quanta for just some damage points.
