Title: Elements Card Tracking Spreadsheet 1.327
Post by: antiaverage on October 04, 2013, 11:17:35 pm
I have updated the Google Documents spreadsheet for Elements Card Tracking to 1.327 and made some improvements. Special thanks to suxerz for starting this sheet, serprex for bug reports and code, and CuCN for bug reports and code.

I am tempted to just make a short video explaining the sheet. Please let me know if this is needed.

You can always find the latest version of the spreadsheet here:
http://dek.im/tracker

You can import your card data by using this:
http://dek.im/import (http://dek.im/import)

Why Google Docs?
Pro: Anyone can use it, available from any computer with an Internet connection
Con: Can be a bit slow, not as advanced as Excel (although not a problem for card tracking)

Great job! This tool is really useful, especially if you've lost count of your cards  ;D

Updated a couple bugs. As usual, you can get the latest version here:
http://dek.im/tracker

Be sure to read the instructions (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/elements-tools/elements-card-tracking-spreadsheet-1-324/msg1100826/#msg1100826) under II. Extras 1. Importing card count data for easy upgrading.

Special thanks to serprex and CuCN for pointing out issues. If you catch any issues, please let me know and I'll be happy to include fixes. Linking me to your commented sheet is also incredibly helpful.

I hesitated to post due to my inability to explain, nevermind with ELI5 requirements. Preferably anti would be around and come up with a great way to give concise yet clear instructions on how to use Firefox's and Chrome's web dev tools to view POST requests. I'll now fail to do so for Firefox, the browser I'm currently using

Login to EtG. Open "File > Web Developer > Network". Open your deck. Close your deck. You should see a POST request to dev7.php in the network monitor. You want to see Params, not Headers. Specifically, you want the value of 'decka'. It's the longest thing, since it's your card pool in RLE form (I'm straying, apologies). Copy/Paste the value of 'decka' into the prompt that appears when you browse to an html file whose content is that of the snippet I posted earlier. The page will finish loading as the Import table you need to Copy/Paste into the Import spreadsheet. NB the import values are overwritten when you update cells, so you'll need to do this on a fresh sheet

If I only served to rewrite what I previously posted in a longer and more confusing mess, then, well, damn

Mozilla's explanation: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2013/06/network-monitor-now-in-firefox-beta

You can ignore this post and just click this:
http://dek.im/import (http://dek.im/import)

Before the above edit, this is the wall of text you could have read...

In chrome, you would open Elements via the elementsthegame.com or Kongregate. Let the page finish loading, but don't login to your account just yet. Open: View > Developer > Developer Tools. Select the Network tab. Go ahead and login to Elements. You'll see requests start to populate the left column. Watch for dev7.php and single-click on it when you see it. Select the Headers tab and scroll down to Form Data. In the Form Data section, look for decka, it's massive. That is your card data. You can use the script serprex wrote above to convert it to something useful for import into the sheet. At some point we'll probably make this a bit more user friendly. I'm looking into automating it with a Chrome extension using chrome.webRequest: http://developer.chrome.com/extensions/webRequest.html

I put up serprex's script on jsfiddle and I added instructions so you can use it easily:
http://jsfiddle.net/AsLLt/9/embedded/result/

Just make sure you copied your decka data using the instructions I just explained, then paste it into the prompt on that jsfiddle. His script will spit out a list of values that you can copy into the Import sheet in order to sync your card tracking.

If you clicked "cancel" on the prompt that came up but didn't get a chance to paste in your decka data, that's okay. Just refresh the jsfiddle page and the prompt will pop back up.

That is just absolutely fantastic. I actually stopped using Spreadsheet because it was so hard to maintain, but that just makes everything about this 10x easier. Thanks a billion!

The sheet is now hosted as template. This allows the increment script to be bundled properly and also smooths the user flow. Unfortunately, Google's preview of the template looks awful, and there isn't much I can do about that. However, once you click the "Use this template" button, it copies over to your Drive and looks great again.

To get the latest sheet, just go to http://dek.im/tracker as usual. For easy upgrade/import, just go to http://dek.im/import and learn how easy it is now.

Thanks a bunch to serprex and antiaverage for doing this. This has seriously made card counting so much easier and much more do-able :D In the off chance I do have a family at some point, I'll name my children after you two!

Seriously, good job!

Thanks to CuCN for porting serprex's script into Google Script. I then modified the script and streamlined the process, so between the three of us it is now even simpler to import your card data. Grab the new sheet at http://dek.im/tracker as usual and follow the instructions on http://dek.im/import for copying your decka data. Paste that data into the decka slot on the Cards sheet, and all your card data will be automatically populated.

There is also a new sheet to keep track of your score progress.

Enjoy!

I have added instructions for Safari and Internet Explorer to http://dek.im/import so that more of you can directly import your card count data into the card tracking spreadsheet. Let me know if any of it is confusing. Happy to help via PM, etc.

The function for cleaning up the Cards sheet just wasn't perfect enough, so CuCN submitted an improved function that has been put in the latest version. Thanks CuCN!

New version released today:
http://dek.im/tracker (http://dek.im/tracker)

  • Score sheet for tracking your Arena Deck Level progress
  • Sell sheet added to give you a clean list of what extra cards you can sell and related stats
  • Collections sheet polished to help you track your progress for different sub-collections of cards
  • Deck Cost improved with new stats and improved layout
  • Colors and functions tweaked

Remember, you can easily import your whole card collection fresh from the game with little effort by using:
http://dek.im/import (http://dek.im/import)

This seems now advanced enough to warrant my effort (read:  it is now little enough effort from me ;) ) of switching from my self-modified version of an older version of your tracker, aa.  Thanks for the efforts you're putting in to this (also, I made sure to rate the template file on Google Drive).

Edit:  If I had to guess, I would peg you as a Canadian type, aa.

Edit2:  Also, your Chrome instructions work for Comodo Dragon too.  May I suggest revising "8. Starting from the 'x'" to "8. Starting with the 'x'" for clarity?

Edit3:  Lesser suggestion here - change "Sell" tab to "Can Sell" or "Suggested Sell"?

Thank you, Rob! Let me know if there is anything you need on the sheet.

Re: Edit: Heh, I'm not Canadian. I live in Boston.

Thank you, Rob! Let me know if there is anything you need on the sheet.

Re: Edit: Heh, I'm not Canadian. I live in Boston.

Re: Edit3: Is Sell too ambiguous? I wanted to keep the tab names short, but is that causing confusion?

This item 3 was much more just "take it or leave it" and I really wouldn't expect any issues from it.  However... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald's_Restaurants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liebeck_v._McDonald's_Restaurants)

I assume the Sell tab is supposed to show a list of each card you need to sell? Well, it does not for me:

Could you try modifying any empty cell on the Cards sheet (like, type a letter into the top left cell or something) and then viewing the Sell sheet?

This is pretty awesome - thanks so much for putting it together + rep!

Update - I just want to reiterate how nice this spreadsheet is, very cool way to see progress towards the Basic Edition.  If I could add rep twice I would.

I tried to import my decka code but everytime i paste it in the box, i get this message:

Error: Your input was malformed.
See the JavaScript console for more information.

In the console I only found a long list of:

Error: Can't find card "xxxx"          (index):301
Where xxxx is always a different 4-digit number between 0000-9999.

I used this before and was loving it, but now it's not working.  I'm not sure if there was an update that is crashing things, but every time I try to paste a decka code, I get

"Error: 2040"
Using Safari.

Anyone else having any trouble?

12/8 edit: Nevermind - I forgot that you had to include the "x" before all of the data...  it's working now.

I've been using this for the last week with Google Chrome. I haven't had any trouble with it.
It could be an issue with Safari and Google Docs... Can you try it in Chrome and see if it works for you?

serprex reported to me that the Sell tab has a small bug.

Quote from: serprex
Sell tab includes excess upped copies in count of how many unupped copies to sell

eg If I have 7/7 SoFr, it'll say I should sell 2 unupped sofrs & 1 upped sofr

So, take care if you are using the Sell tab. I will post here when this is fixed.

Something seems to be wrong with Owl's Eye. I have 74 copies of the unupped and 1 copy of the upped, and my unupgraded Air completion rate currently shows 104.63%. If I remove the excess unupped or set unupped to 6 while retaining the excess unupped, it goes back to the normal 100%. This doesn't happen with my other excess rares.

(After getting into developer tools, giving a detailed list as to the next steps as I don't see how I can do them from anywhere)

After opening dev tools, do the following:

1. Go to the deck editor in the game. Then, click "Menu"
2. Go to dev tools. There is a tab called "Network" Click it once.
3. There will be an item called "dev7.php". Click it once.
4. After doing that, there will be a tab called "Headers". It is under "Disable cache". Click it once.
5. Look for "decka". After it, there will be a string of numbers followed by "x", so the sting will look something like this:
x01070060309001070600108080012309002241300626300053112003320000432030030002025002700800280090029006003301100350060036006010001601010070102011010301201040080105007010600901080080109006011000601110110112009011300801140090120002013000801500140200015020101202020060203007020400802050090206012020700802080060209007021000802110090212007021301202140070215009022000202300020250007030001603010090302009030300703040080305009030601003070100308008030900503100080311011031200603130080314007031500603300100350013040000904010070402005040300904040070405006040600604070120408006040900804100060411009041200704130060414008042000204300030450019050002005010070502008050300805040080505008050601205070080508008050901105100120511012051201105130120530011055001306000140601009060201206030120604011060500606060060607010060801206090060610010061100706120080614007063000106500150700015070101107020070703006070400707050070706006070700907080080709006071001007110080712010071301207140090715010073000607500150800015080100608020080803007080400608050090806006080701008080050809006081000508110090812011081300608140100830006085001209000180901008090201209030090904006090500609060060907010090800609090060910011091101009120080913007092000109300090950012100001110010081002011100300810040101005006100601010070091008007100900610100071011006101201010130061014012103000810500131100014110101011020121103007110400811050091106006110701011080081109012111000911110071112006111301211140081130006115001912000171201007120201212030091204012120500612060101207012120800612090081210007121100712120091213012121400712200011230012125001220020052033001210200121050012107006210900221300022150006220000622030052208006221000422110012214002223000622500082301001230200123080012310001231100123300012400006240200224060062408006250900126000012604001260600626070022609006261000126110022612004263000127010012702002270700127080012710001271200127300022800001280100628020012803001280500128060012807001280900628100062814002283000128500012901004290600629070012909006291000129110022912001293000330000053001001300500630070013008005300900630300013050003310500331070013108001311200132000043205006320600132080033210005
6. Copypaste your decka string into cell U1 of the "Cards" sheet of the card tracking spreadsheet.
6.1. Alternatively, you can go to jsfiddle.net/AsLLt/27/embedded/result/ (http://jsfiddle.net/AsLLt/27/embedded/result/) and put the decka string into the text box. There will be a table after you do that. Copypaste that into cell A1 of the "Import" sheet the card tracking spreadsheet. it does the same thing, but it's a bit more work.
7. Wait for the spreadsheet to do stuff. It should work now.

I hope this helps!

He interpreted 'Mark of Entropy' as 'Total Entropy Cards', and same for the other elements. Notice how the totals all match.

Savage, Mark of Entropy means this: . Marks are extremely rare cards that can only be obtained from winning tournaments and some other PvP events.

Updated the tracking sheet :)

The Sell tab used to take ages to calculate by relying on some slow scripts to run. That has been totally revamped and is lightning fast now thanks to Google finally allowing 12+ conditional formatting rules for cels. The Score sheet includes some bug fixes. A few more tweaks have also been made and the sheet should be current with 1.327 completely.

Grab the latest sheet from here:

And remember, it's very easy to get the sheet filled in with all your information using:
http://dek.im/import

Thanks for your support everyone! Be sure to vote for the tracking sheet and let me know if you run into any issues.

Score tab upgraded to now show levels past 80, intelligently changing as you progress farther past 81, etc.
Currently this maxes out at 107 for no particular reason, but since that would be 44,689,020 score this shouldn't be a problem
Percentages on the Score tab now show 1 decimal point

I mean the Sell tab is just recommending what to sell, doesn't mean you have to. Any reason simply ignoring that line by yourself isn't sufficient?

Not really, just thought it would be nice since Relics are the only "common" card that gets listed in the Sell tab.

I cannot import my collection anymore with the import function, for some reason. I think it's because of having recently gotten 2 Holy Cows (from Plat). How can I solve this?

I was thinking of removing manually Holy Cow from the decka when I import it: does someone know how data is stored in the decka?

I was thinking of removing manually Holy Cow from the decka when I import it: does someone know how data is stored in the decka?

Data in the decka is stored like this:

There are seven digits by card. The first four are an ID, and the following three are the amount you have. The ID is generated by converting the card code, in Base32, to Base10, and then substracting 5000 from the resulting number.}

For Holy Cow, the code is 5lt, which is converted to 5821. As such, Holy Cow's ID is 0821. Since you said that you have 2 Holy Cows, the other three numbers should be 002.

You should look up 0821002(only 0821 is really needed, but I added 002 for reference, since you also need to delete the next three digits after the ID) and remove it. Your decka should be free of Holy Cows now.

I started with a simpler sheet that someone else built and then slowly added more tools, features, and improvements. At this point it's been entirely reworked, but it would not have happened with the people I thanked in the original post.
