This is pretty awesome. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there are any other CCG radio stations...
I don't think there are.

I went to Google and only thing I found was a MtG podcast but that's a different thing.

Btw I went find royalty-free music and there's tons of it all over the internet.

Here's one example: http://www.danosongs.com/ (http://www.danosongs.com/)

I was expecting something horrible but the quality is actually pretty good.

Also Cisco had some good ideas on where to get music for our radio. We'll keep you posted.

I think there isn´t a radio for CardGames, (perhaps one for gamers) but there are free radio stations for almost every kind of music.
And how many hours radio program do we have ? How many could we make with Elements?
Not much.
I`m teffy, here - and Ringat on Kongregate

:darkness Um.. Black Metal? :)
Maybe slightly more instrumental prog metal and NWoAHM?
The instrumental tracks on Mastodon's Crack the Skye come to mind as an example.

As a former DJ and Head of Production for an actual physical radio station, I would suggest against having actual DJs except as a bonus thing (maybe a podcast), because you'll never get volunteers to pick up a regular slot with reasonable quality. Just stick to playlists of music for now, would be my suggestion.

Idea is not to make a talk radio. Elements Radio will most play music, but if possible, we will also add 2-3 weekly shows + reruns. Anything more than that would be too much.

Lately there has been a lot of new things happening with Elements and doing one hour show about those changes each week shouldn't be a problem to anyone who has any experience in running a radio show. Keep in mind that you don't have to talk for the full hour, there's also music in between.

These shows should probably be hosted by two people (or one if he/she has a lot of experience).

I have no idea what that is but sounds good. :)

We should first found out what kind of music is available for us without having to pay royalties. There are some free stuff on the internet and like I said Cisco has some ideas.

Anyone with a good source for music, please share it with us.

Cool. You can help out us noobs then. :)

Yes, I'm worried about volunteers also. Projects like might this sound cool to them at first but at some point they get bored and quit or quality goes to sh*t like you said.

Yes, playlist first. Music only. After a while, if things look good and we have a good plan, then add DJ's and weekly programming. Baby steps.

I would like to hear some Trance music too. It's perfect to hear when playing something and it will keep you relaxed.

No metal, no win.
We can have metal but it has to be as "easy listening" as possible. The goal is to have 12 different styles but not so extreme that people.

For example if we played hardcore death metal on "Death Hour", 90% of listeners would turn the radio off.

Optimal situation would be if people could listen to the radio regardless of what genre was playing. That might not be possible but we can try. :)

I like music and listen to almost all different genres depending on my current mood but I know majority of people avoid the hardcore stuff. Therefore we have to compromise to get more people to listen.

We have to avoid these:

- Very fast, very loud music
- Music where the singing is basically screaming
- Obvious religious music (semi-religious might be ok)
- Any music that is too "weird"
etc.

Of course we can have special shows where DJ's can play whatever they want. But the main content should be easy listening that fits well as a background music for Elements.

I think there you can get music. It says:
Quote
The Audio Portal is a resource for aspiring musicians and Flash artists!

Learn more about it in the FAQ and be sure to check out the Audio Forum!
And the best music will be Trance. You can hear it and don't need to concentrate on it. Also makes Trance happy.

Thing is, I think music where grunts (not screams) are used instrumentally as well as lyrically is amazing. But there'll always be people who think it's too evil, I suppose.
