Creating OUR Radio - Step 1: What music do you like?

I still like the original idea of having 12 stations, one for each element, with a different kind of music of each. It gives people different options instead of having one set list of music.

Though tempting the idea is, please note that currently I'm the only one working on this project, and while I guess I *could* do something like that - it would become more than a full-time job for me to not only create, but to maintain all the 12 stations. I'm planning to involve more people as the idea is becoming more and more of a reality, but seeing the limited feedback I got so far, I doubt it will be anytime soon. Also, I'm trying to look further than simple, one-time music mixes, as if all goes well, we could even have many other things on air, like interviews, "talkshows", news and such; just like a real radio station. But we'll see about that.

However, let's stay on topic, please. It's easier for me to 'gather stats' that way.

I understand while saying this that the vast majority of people here won't agree with my likes, but they are my likes.

Rock, I've always been a fan of. Rap, I like a bit, but only christian rap, and I stress that. I mostly listen to christian only, but other rock is fine. Christian Rock and Rap is actually what I already listen to while playing Elements.

Personally, I prefer music without lyrics, as I think it flows better. (I love music that just flows!) I also enjoy music that is fast paced. It just make me want to DO something! I also like electronic and dubstep music, though not everyone may be a fan. Irregardless, good luck, as I would love to see this happen.

I highly encourage this. I would love an elements radio that also included forum news and interviews, especially during War and other major PvP events. The opportunity for propaganda is fantastic.

On topic. I for one am generally a fan of any sort of music that is thoughtful and creative. As generic an answer as that really is, it sounds much more eloquent than the oft repeated phrase, "The only music I don't like is country and rap".

For elements, I think instrumental music would be best, if we're just looking for music to play the game to. I find lyrics and spoken word to be distracting when I'm trying to focus on a task; pure instrumental compositions, however, make it easier to get into "the zone", while also breaking the tedium of mindless grinding. Thus, I'd suggest some sort of orchestral work, both classical and modern, and some form of electronic music. I'm not quite familiar with the idiosyncrasies of different electronic genres, but I assume that you know what I mean when I say that. I'd only request a ban on skrillex.

I enjoy techno/dubstep/trance, pretty much anything that falls under that category. If you want an example, then nonelikejoshua on YouTube. He does mixes and raps over some of them.
