So, chat seems borked.

The link from the main site is replaced by an error symbol and when I try to access from the forums I get a blank gray screen with a little link at the top that gives access to "room".

When I click on this I receive the following message: "It seems you have tried to open a link in a new window which is not allowed."

Help?

Ignore the white space btw.

Edit: Thought, might I be banned for some reason?

Hm.. chat should be working, and you are not banned. I think that the problem here is your browser (seeing it shows something else instead of the regular chat buttons on the top-left). Maybe it has something to do with javascript. Have you tried with a different browser? You could also try emptying browser cache.

You said you were using Chrome right?  Because I recall refreshing chat at about the same time as you appeared in chat discussing this issue, while using Chrome, so the browser might not be the issue.  However, I have had an issue where the chat screen appears nothing as blank when I have had extremely limited internet connection.  Might just be a coincidence, but maybe the two are related.  Javascript sounds perfectly plausible.

Yeah, I switched over to a different browser from  chrome and it works fine now.
Also a strange note, while on chrome people had avatars that seemed to resemble adds from different sites. Was strange, but I think I'll just stay away from chrome atm.

Popping in to say that I just had this problem and am extremely grateful that I remembered this topic existed.  Switching to Firefox fixed the problem, thankfully (and yes, I was using Chrome as well).
