Suggestions for the new chat!

We seem to be experiencing one of the older problems that also plagued the chat on the old forums: the URLs of links get cut off, such that there are ellipses (...) shortening the link.

Also, commas seem to break the links. This is a huge problem, since the forum link coding uses "topic,X.Y.html" for its indexing. What happens right now is that the hyperlink doesn't include anything after the comma.

I think it's a bit silly to create a new thread for each thing missing from the new chat, so...

The text limit really needs to be increased.  I'm finding it increasingly difficult to have a conversation with someone when I'm limited to one line responses at a time.

As a temporary, manual fix for the comma causing breaks, replace "," with ","

For example, send "http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,38322.msg475810.html#msg475810" instead of "http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,38322.msg475810.html#msg475810" (only works in chat).

I'm not sure what the "Effects" option in the panel is supposed to do, but I'd like either that or some other option to be able to disable smilies but especially colors. I know some people are simply annoyed by colors sometimes (me in an even fouler than usual mood), when it's useful to be able to just watch all text as plain white.

That existed back in the old chat as well. I hated that too. Not just because of my spamming tendencies.

Yes, they would be nice. They're so nice, in fact, that they agreed to enter Chat. Now I have them trapped there for all eternity.

EDIT: Chrome update fixed that.

And then it went back to freezing up. Must be some difference between the old and new chat applets.
