Is +AveragePotato in Elements Chat a bot?

Yes, AveragePotato is a bot used to replace the Forum ticker present in the old chat.

For reference, AveragePotato posts every three minutes with the latest thread in said Forums.

hmmm but why is it named +AveragePotato? I was really curious about it for a while because everytime I log in chat he's online but never chats, he just posts posts. And when I got to ask about it in chat. People had contradicting answers. So it messed with my head and I just had to know. Sorry for the superfluous post.

I believe AveragePotato was named thus due to an old Forums joke that has eluded me and was most likely before either of our times.

I believe potatos started when Dragoonnumbers was in council.

Nah. Right around when we started the first Council, we had a little joke with Dragoon1140 and DesertKnight about how most users weren't much smarter than the average potato. When Council members were appointed, 1140 and I decided to give them their official 'potato names' (eg. Potato1140, Potaeto Hate, Kurotato, etc). We're now keeping the joke alive with our friendly neighborhood bot.
