More mods?

There's a couple of times per day where it seems no mods are on. It's particularly annoying when an aggressive newbie comes in around those times, such as early on in the morning (PST). Luckily we made today's troll ragequit using manlove, but I'd say a couple of extra hands banning sources of annoyance would go a long way in making chat a better place.

I'll volunteer. From the looks of that chat log, the kid wasn't really out of line until people started screwing with him. All around, a mod would have helped, both with the 'in crowd' and 'the newbie'. I have moderated in other places as well so I know what it takes.

As former chat mod, I dont' think we need more chat mods. There's an ignore function in new chat, people should learn how to use it. Even if I think that people should learn, before, to avoid troll feeding and just ignore them.

Ignore functions are a bandaid at best. Next to that, most newer users don't seem to know the function exists.

I'd PM suggestions like this to our Administrators rather than start a topic for it in the public.  I'd rather not see a topic full of posts stating "X member would make a great chat mod" or give incentive for people to point out flaws in our current moderation staff/specific instances where a lack of moderation caused issues, which I now see has already started to take place.
