"Chat lag" might be the wrong phrase here. I mean the lull between the things people say. BlaB doesn't update immediately like irc, so you can see chat being updated in bunches at a time...if you're me, anyways.

The amount of delay in between the messages being submitted and them appearing on the screen largely depends on the number of people typing and submitting at the same time.

For example, during the Chat Trivia competition, there was a whole lot of lag because a large number of people were typing and submitting in a short amount of time.
