How to jump start a frozen chat

While we are waiting for the new version of the chat to arrive, I thought I'd let everyone know this cool trick I found by accident.

Sometimes when the chat freezes, you can jump start it using the following technique:

1. Press the browser Reload/Refresh button
2. Immediately after, press the Stop button (so that the page doesn't have time to reload)
3. Wait for a few seconds
4. Chat starts moving again

I have now been using this technique in chat for about 7 days, and it hasn't let me down once. Of course it's not the perfect solution, but it should help out with some of the frustration. It probably won't work with all the browsers, but try it out.

not only don't I think it's doesn't work for all browsers, I think different OS will affect it too

You need to be fast. If you let the window reload for too long, it's game over.

I've tested this in Chrome and Firefox, both work like a charm.

Yeah, I always notice that chat starts to work again after I refresh. (It takes a long time to refresh because my internet is slow.)
I've also found that opening the History may restart it, too.

I don't know how much faster I can be.  I usually hit F5 and then Esc within milliseconds of each other.  Does it have to be done within a certain frame of time after chat freezes?

Do you have a super computer or something? This laptop I'm using now, reloads very slowly, so I have lots of time to press Stop. Maybe if yours reloads faster, there is no time to press the button. I don't know.
