Using what method?  I'm in chat now (using standalone client), and there are a bunch of peeps in here with me.  Looks like several are using the web client.

I'm just using the elements chat, not kong.  Not doing anything differently, no different software, etc.  Says 'authentication failed' when I try to login.

My case is the same as xyan's, although I got it 'fixed' by rob77dp, who gave a webcache of the chat.

I was having a bit of trouble with both forum and chat a little while ago.

Everything associated with elementscommunity.org went down today because of a surprise hardware upgrade from our hosting company. They noticed things were running slowly and figured we could use a free boost. It was nice of them, but horribly inconvenient. Everything should be running smoothly now. Let me know otherwise.
