Sevs: Hey all so I dont really know what you thought of the idea to suicide. It is possible we can take a risk and perhaps hope they run NOTP against death. not likely. but we need to sort out what to keep for the next round if we do choose to suicide. So which deck do you think is our better options? OE control or rage golems. or some hybrid of both.

I like the suicide idea a lot if we have no chance at all to beat them.  I thought this was the case, then I started testing this: 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fc 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 7ds 7ds 7ds 8po
just a variant of rage golems, but it feels like it has a small advantage.  The problem is, it wins in forward and loses (generally) in reverse.  I think it has a decent shot and allows us to save a totally separate deck (OE Control), for next round without suiciding.  I will ultimately leave the decision up to Sevs.

-I set the vault/deck up with this:
58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58r 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fc 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 7ds 7ds 7ds 8po
This would still give us OE/Control for next round.  If you think this is a horrible idea, please change it back to suicide.  I will be at a funeral all day.

We played it out with Sevs, and the team decided it is better to suicide.

So far i have converted
Discord        0        3
Black Hole        0        2
Graviton Fire Eater        0        1
Reverse Time        0        2
Eternity        0        2
Wind Pillar        0        2
Stone Dragon        6        1
Iridium Warden        0        1
Earthquake        0        4

To make this
Stone Pillar        0        18        4
Earth Pendulum        7        9        5
Hematite Golem        6
Stone Dragon        6
Fog Shield        1
Flying Weapon        2
Shockwave        4
Wings        5
Owl's Eye        3
Deflagration        4
Rage Potion        3
Phoenix        4

That leaves us with a 36 pillar pend deck and the possibility to convert next round to create either Nix'em or OE control.

5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fc 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 7ds 7ds 7ds 8po

So our deck will be 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 778 778 778 778 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 8pm

I've been trying for quite a while now to find any deck with our current vault that could have any hope to win against NoTP. I was unsuccessful. Unless you want to try to hail mary this with a time mark and an essentially mono-earth with pends, i'd suggest suiciding.

Wait a second, this might work. Testing this now.
58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58r 58r 596 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 77a 78q 7q4 7q4 8ps

Unfortunately I can't fully test this because I have to sleep, but I think this might work. It would require not converting that stuff though. 6-3 (one loss was with 1 hp left, all losses were pretty close) against Dark's last round NoTP.
Could probably use some tweaking, but the concept is there. Hard counter NoTP at all cost.
However, this leaves us in a basically lost situation if we lose this match. We're going to have to try and pull something out of our ***es either this round or next, so we have to decide whether we want to try and risk our war combatting NoTP, or waiting for next round's troubles. I vote suicide.

ROUND 9!

(Earth) Gen Kirchj33 vs (Darkness) Gen TorB

I will "deckbuild" when I get home from work tonight.

I suppose I could look at this in 1 of 3 ways:
1.  Build a crazy bold deck (using whatever we need from our vault and hope to win (this will be really really tough, considering our vault and our history vs. NotP).
2.  Try one of our two predictable decks as-is and hope we win. This at least gives us a complete deck for the next round if we lose.
3.  Punt and do the pillar suicide trick and hope for a more favorable matchup in round 10, we still have 2 kinda versatile decks so it might be a good idea to wait to see if we can hard counter someone else the following round.  This causes us to narrow things down to one deck and be stuck with it for the rest of war after next round (if it goes longer than 10 rounds).

I expect him to to make a NOTP with a sideboard of dragons. Since he can essentially change mark and run a mono with 2-3 dead cards.

This means we cant go straight wings. Also steals are not a good sign either. I will go through the vault tonight and see what we can try and make from the vault.

Crazy survival ideas
We could possibly suicide an all pillar deck to hide our last remining deck
Make a combo OE control Nix'em so we can switch if we expect the dragons?
possibly a mostly mono with discords off the mark?
We can't possibly win vs the notp, if we could, we would have done that earlier.

Event:
Each deck must be exactly 36 cards.  Between duels use those cards to build any deck.  Discard is 36.  NO SALVAGE.

- Players may build any deck from those 36 cards, meaning their deck size during each duel will be 30-36 cards.
- Players may play a different deck during each individual duel. They have 3 minutes between duels to make changes to their deck.
- Teams that are unable to give 36 cards to each player, may take Pillars or Pendulums of their element as temporary bonus cards which will disappear after the battle.

So they can assign 36 cards to the "deck" and then run their 31 card NotP each time.

Just saying:
[20:29:41] bogtro: so going into this round, there were 1209 cards total in all teams vaults
[20:29:49] bogtro: 450 cards will be lost this round, leaving 759
[20:29:59] bogtro: and 2 rounds
[20:30:17] bogtro: 759 implies there will be 10-11 matches, so another 300-330 will be lost, leaving 429-459
[20:30:27] bogtro: which leaves only 6-7 matches
[20:30:35] bogtro: and thus a loss of 180-210 cards
[20:30:44] bogtro: leaving at least 219 cards
[20:30:56] bogtro: not counting event cards -> thus, event cards will be some way to force more discards

Shake it off guys, we're still not dead. Only 78 cards, but thats enough to win. We're looking at 4th place, and the way that event cards have been theres a half-decent shot we come right back from this.

Good read - I like the upbeat nature of this :)  I hope event cards are as kind to our vault after losing as they have been to everyone elses.
