For the event card, we choose to either ban 2 cards or take +2 upgrades on all decks. At first I was thinking the bans were a no-brainer, but we have to pick the same 2 bans for all of our opponents, i.e. I don't think we can custom tailor our bans to each team. We could, however, keep our bans focused on one or two opponents (like, say, name shard of freedom and fractal) and just hope for incidental damage to the other opponents. On the other hand, we can just take more upgrades and not try to guess what our opponents might do.
I'm pretty confident that as a team we can work out bans that are smarter than the opponents and adjust to the mini-meta accordingly, but two upgrades is fairly significant as well, especially if they can be altered midmatch. I vote that we use bans for round 1.
Suggested bans:
-WINGS. Wings is pretty good against earth, and we'd force team Air into a more narrow mindset for deckbuilding, probably some sort of rush, and then we could try to counter accordingly
-DIMSHIELD. Kind of the same thing except vs Aether
-FRACTAL. More of an all around good ban vs all teams, but especially aether.
-BONE WALL. This would pretty much target death (duh) and aether in the form of bonebolt, and we could prepare accordingly. Our best PC, pulverizer, also sucks against bone wall, but is very good against wings or dimshields.
-SHARD OF FREEDOM. Stuffs Air pretty hard, but due to SoFr cost, they might not have that many in vault, and might not point them at us. Probably not as strong as other choices. They're pretty deadly if they ARE aimed at us, though. Plus, nobody else will be using them.
-pillars/pendulums. No idea if we're allowed to ban these, but holy crap, we could screw a couple teams, lol. Sending a PM to Zawadx, but I suspect they'll disallow it.
