It's a nice enough idea, and low cost. I play these decks often, though usually mixed. (About 1/3 pillars/attack/spells.)
Obviously, your creature count is low and your spell count is high. You have also listed some alternatives with 9 or 10 towers. I would never do that. it simply slows the game down if your draw is bad.
The quicksands are strong, but it is somwhat of an overkill. You do not have to kill every single pillar. Just a few in the opening phase is bad enough. It is really annoying to keep drawing them as you wait for your graboids. Suppose you had a bad draw, (late graboids) and the opponent manages to play out just the 1 aether dragon and a bit of damage. In other words you are done for in 10 turns. Every tempo matters, and you drew just 1 graboid. Tricky stuff...
I think it is stronger like this:
778 778 778 778 778 778 778 778 778 778 778 77a 77a 77a 77g 77g 77g 77g 77g 77g 77j 77j 77j 77j 77l 77l 77l 77l 77l 77l
And that is a conservative build. I mostly use 9 spells and 10 creatures.
