well i got really mad at the mono aether ai3 so i decided to make a nice rush that i could shove in its face and blow it up.

Also, looks like a fun deck, but I don't know which AI you're talking about since I haven't played AI3 in a few months....o-o PvP ftw!

Not really, because the mono aether also has a decent amount of CC in the form of lightning bolts.  Even with the Phoenixes, the momentum would be lost once they were turned into ash.  This way, the explosion simply disrupts the chain of shields and the Phoenixes are able to absorb a good amount of the CC.

Momentum is indeed more useful. It has 3 Lightnings in a 42-card deck, so it rarely puts a dent in your offense. It does, however, have Lobo for Phoenixes, but that won't matter. Chargers are faster, more efficient, and works for a bunch of other Elders too.
Of course, this is mostly a joke deck. Good reference indeed.
