Title: Mutant Jellyfish! [Entropy][Water]
Post by: willng3 on February 20, 2011, 03:23:39 am
So this last tourney (Odd Alliances) really got my brain juices going for creative synergies between two rather unfriendly elements.  So, I came up with this.  Granted it did fail me, (drawing 2 Physalia in the first 22 cards certainly didn't help anything...) the deck is pretty darn fast and is fun to play.  While I can't suggest it for anything other than casual use, I encourage anyone to experiment with it against different enemies.

Basically a Mutation deck and Waterbow all in one, plus it's just a neat duo.  I originally used Discords and Ulitharid, but found that Discord conflicted with :entropy way too much so I sacked them and threw in Tridents instead.  Aside from that...I added another Congeal and Purify; freezing all of the opponent's creatures allows for Purify to heal for a surprising amount of damage while the field is under lock down.  Throw in the Poseidon and have the opponent feel the burn.  Unless you don't draw a Supernova on your first turn, you shouldn't experience quanta denial (5.5% chance of not drawing a Pend on your first turn).  I generally wait to Mutate Physalia until I have used up all my :death on Poisoning the opponent.

Sounds fun, I wouldn't call it really a Duo *Im assuming most people will, sooner or later* I would call this a Trio as you will be creating a lot of damage just from poison, before you mutate your Physalia.
Am not really a fan of Trident, though. I would switch them out for a couple Water tower, Water Pend. Maybe even a Vampire Dagger *I know this deck was for a Duo tourny, but still doesnt mean after it, it cant be a trio, or quartet*. It seems a little slower to set up with trident sucking your quanta, fun deck overall.

It seems that way, but it really isn't.  As is custom of any deck using Supernova, the launch speed is terrific.  I define it as a duo since there are only two card elements used, which you will generally find defines a duo on the forums.
