Great Heroes of Old - a death/time deck. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=6930.msg74591#msg74591

So, it's been a while since I've played Elements. I've returned to it to find some very nice new cards... and being something of an Egyptian mythology nut I was delighted to find the Pharoah. A great looking card that could summon scarabs? Excellent! I've always loved scarabs, and my first deck was a scarab/parallel universe deck, though sadly the parallel universe on scarabs doesn't seem to produce stupidly huge scarabs anymore.

However... he's expensive! By the time I could reliably gather 8 time quanta, I might be by far on the back foot. Then I noticed the Mummy. This, I thought, could be a solution.

With that:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
710 710 710 710 710 710 710 710 71b 71d 71d 71d 71d 71d 71d 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q3 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q8 8pl

The concept: fill your side of the board with scarabs! Eat anything that comes near you! It's simple... but I'm having troubles getting it to work. Anything with lobotomy can stop me in my tracks. Scarabs are particularly vulnerable and not very useful until you get 4/5.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: so, I've tried tweaking it a bit more and have concluded that, bar maybe switching pillars around a bit, it isn't going to get much better than this. I added a boneyard, though, on the basis that I had plenty of spare death quanta and was eating stuff a lot  ;D

Also tried the unupgraded version, which is still pretty good, and can kill AI3s quite reliably (or lose by the skin of its teeth a lot)

I've been trying it out and i have to say im liking it alot :D, i think its awsome although i did stick in a few minor tweaks of my own for the upgraded version though, went with 6 bone & 7time towers, 1 more bonewall, and added in 2 shards of readyness since i found that spamming beetles used alot of quanta after 2+ pharaohs.

nice idea, maybe add graveyard to so your scarabs can eat more and you'll gain a better bone wall :D

I've been running a similar deck (although admittedly with 2 pharoahs and a golden nymph), but unupped. It works well, even with the pharaohs, I often get mummies RT'd first. I've thrown in an Arsenic for those times I need a little more damage. Like the bonewall...hadn't thought of that.

Scarab/Fractal is generally faster and more stable than Pharaoh.

Try making a deck with some gravity pillars, a graveyard, and a bone wall. It's so crazy it might just work ^_^ Endless eating=endless bone wall=OMGWTF

hmmm that would make it a deck with 3 colors :/ but I might try it some time. I built an alright deck that is just fractal scarab. with a couple of lobotomizers to deal with golems and the like.

I use some pendulums to generate more gravity quata. This is my (un-upgraded) version:
(2 Death Pendulum, 5 Gravity Pendulum)
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52q 52q 52t 52t 52t 52t 52t 52t 542 542 576 576 576 576 576 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rk
The defense of this deck is too weak. However, as the mana generation is not very stable, I don't know how to improve it.
