This deck works on using the thorn carapace to kill their creatures, and using flying jade staffs to survive their onslaught. The nymphs make the staffs heal for much more and deal appreciable damage, and can also target opposing creatures to kill them faster.


After testing in the trainer, it doesn't seem like an extremely good deck. The flying weapons are difficult to replace if they are killed. A single steal will really mess you up as all your flying weapons are ideally adrenalined. I added the dragons for more finishing power, as it was an issue in earlier versions. I also played around with using epinephrine instead of nymphs to make it less vulnerable to creature control, but access to infinite adrenalines is invaluable. Another idea I tried was putting in some shards of gratitude for healing that wasn't vulnerable to creature control, but there just didn't seem to be space for them.

Anyway, it's fun and built around a neat concept. Thoughts?

I would use unupped staffs because they heal 5 more with adrenaline than upped ones.

I've been running a very similar deck for AI3 farming. It's tricky to balance right and there's a few subtle tricks.

My version was roughly:
4 Emerald Dragons
2 Thorn Carapace
6 Emphetamine
5 Jade Staves
5 Animate Weapon
The rest is life towers.

I can't remember the exact numbers, so you may need to tinker with the quantities a little.


Thorn Carapace is deliberately not upgraded. The problem with the spine version is that creatures with 1 hp will not be infected, so you can't kill skeletons, photons and other annoyances that the AI likes to spam. The unupgraded version solves that problem.

Also the dragons are deliberately unupgraded. The extra attack power from the Jade dragon doesn't justify the qunata cost. If you get sucky draws you can Ephetamine the dragons and punch your way through the majority of AI3 opponents.

Creature control isn't a problem since the AI likes to target your dragons when infact the staves with adrenaline are the real threat. Enemy shields can be a problem, particularly firewall / thorn carapace but anything that absorbs 1 damage will slow you down.

This deck is a little slow, but the good thing about it is that you get 50%+ elemental masteries vs AI3 making it a nice earner. It would be 80-90%+ if the rules were changed so that all your staves attacked before the game ended.

Well... i don´t see the "problem" here.
That could be very useful if you play graveyard in the same deck (so maybe call it an unwritten rule to rainbows who play thorn), but as skelletons and other little creatures don´t deal you damage, why should you want to kill them and stop your opponent spamming his space away with those?

/Edit: I think i forgot about the abilties low attack creatures can have in this case.

Exact same strategy - you can effectively make sure your opponent never damages beyond your ability to heal by using the Spine Carapace and adrenaling his/her monsters. Giving a creature multiple attacks versus this shield is practically a death warrant and the healing supplied will always make up for the extra weaker attacks.
It can be used as an FG deck but fails miserably in a few conditions.
1} Gravity, Dissipation, Fire Buckler, Spine Carapace, Diamond, Permafrost and Jade shields all kill this deck when played.
2} Steal is used while your own shield is up.
3} Poison type creature control is used.

The dragons would solve some of the shield problems but aside from that I'd think you're running into the same loss conditions as me.
In order of easiest first the deck can beat;

Ferox
Divine Glory
Paradox
Osiris
Dark Matter
Destiny
Fire queen
Seism

With dragons Elindis and Miracle should become beatable.

I'd say this deck is more a Halfblood killer deck rather than anything else, but it's just great fun to play :D

True but when you have upgraded them all you can't downgrade hahaha, I don't have 20 staves :/

Well... i don´t see the "problem" here.

Because some creatures with a "1" attack strength can have abilities that are annoying (or worse), like Parasite, Ray of Light, Arctic Squid, among others.

If they steal that spine carapace youre done! also if you dont want that to happen change mark to  :gravity and add momentum

Other possible things to add:
Eaerth:
Enchant Artifact for the Shield
Basilisk Blood: The Staffs go through 4 bubbles/turn and can still heal the 20 HP/ or use as creature control

Fire:
Deflag: Against these evil Eternitys or Lobotomizers or Shields which block 2 damage.
RoF: Creature Control.
