In my attempt to make a duo death deck that was useful to farm T50's i found that this deck is the most effective (beyond speed poison that is). Although i'm tempted to say that this deck might even be close (14-1 in the trainer). It's surprisingly fast enough to eat up the rainbows and out survive speed earth (because the comp is dumb) and speed fire. My only loss came to a devourer fractal deck but obviously does have weaknesses against other decks (speed life, RoL/Fractal, decks with congeal/squid, etc).

I found that any deck with Flesh Recluses just ended up dying far too quickly or as easy otyguh food. With 14 towers the Dragons come out fairly quick and have decent survivability. If you play speed fire with lances (you typically know who's deck has what) try to play your phoenix first because the comp will waste all of them in one turn on it. Beyond that the rest of the deck is pretty much standard.

All comments appreciated.

Why death?  Every color has dragons.  It doesn't seem like Arsenic is a sufficient reason to select the color.  Is it just because the upgraded dragons of that quanta cost 10 instead of 11+?  Do you find "turn one five pillars, turn two dragon" to the big attraction?

With Life, you can get a dragon that can't be killed even after Oty goes 1/6 on a Phoenix, nor after Fire Storm has been cast.
With Water, you can get a dragon with a better cost:attack ratio, and have creature control sidecard choices.
With Gravity, you can get a a 'dragon' that costs 5 and isn't affected by shields, as well as more interesting side card choices (like otys of your own, or black holes).

I'm not saying you made the wrong choice, I'm just curious what comparable strategies you found death to be superior to?

It occurs to me that 10 cost and 12 cost are basically the same if you are starting 3 pillar turn one (dragon on turn 4), or 4 pillar turn one (dragon on turn 3).  After half a dozen games, I haven't seen the five pillar opener yet.

So here's another variation on the theme, but with dragons who don't die to a 1/6 Oty that ate a Phoenix, and with outs against the increasingly popular hope/fractal deck:

Code: [Select]
7dm 7dm 7dm 7dm 7ds 7ds 7ds 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7ms 7mv 7mv 7mv 7mv 7mv 7mv 7n6 7n6 7n6
A 20-pt nuke the the face could win some races, and you might wipe a board of brimestones/phoenixes/(unpumped) golems/skeletons too?

Why death?
Why death? Simple answer actually. I'm challenging the current Master of Death in the challenge and making a duo death deck was one of the assignments.  :)

With that being said this deck does work fairly well.
