My version of this kind of deck with mark of fire looks like this:

Deck import code : [Select]

You could also take Fog Shield if you wanted but I didn't because it gets stolen so easily.

I think this kind of deck has to have permanent destruction to beat those top-50 decks.

Thanks for educating me. I actually didn't know that Damselflies produced Air quantum, but after testing them, I didn't find them all that effective because they are so easy to kill, and you don't really need them.

Once you get a couple of those Eagle Eye's on the table, it's almost a guaranteed victory because they have 7 HP each and cannot be taken out with a double Rain of Fire.

Ulitharid (+steal or explosion) can be a very nasty creature to counter this.

Let's throw out a deck and see if anybody thinks it'll work:

Air Mark,

6 Eagle's Eyes
6 Flying Weapon
6 Damselflies
12 Air Towers

Begin your experiments.

I did something like this, though I never thought of using Damselflies (upgraded Dragonflies, 2/1 that produces Air Quantum, for those that don't know). I made a couple variations like this with both Wurms and Thunderstorms, but Damselflies is a great idea. This deck is amazing with creature control, but Eternity and RT are still your worst enemies. The deck does very well in PvP though, simply because of it's amazing speed.

Mono Decks apart from Darkness or Fire are usually not worth playing! But responding with a duo deck in a mono deck thread is hardly the major transgression you make it out to be. Its the same theme and idea so I cannot see the problem! I like the duo deck more and I do not think that the mono has a serious chance against most setups...

Flying OE used to be VERY common before Bone Walls and VERY annoying. I won most of my 23 OE's against them!

Yes, my deck was duo therefore doesn't belong here. I didn't really think about that. I guess I was just trying to say that the deck you posted has very little chance without permanent removal.

Most mono-decks suck anyways. It's usually better to take mark from some other element so your deck will be more well-rounded.

Bonewall is not your friend.  It is VERY easy to maintain the wall against what it admittedly not a very strong creature attack.

So, I suppose you're saying if the opponent has a ulitharid before you ever animate a EE?  Because you could use the un-lobotomized EE still in your weapon slot to hit it twice before you animate, or, if you already have two EEs (animated or otherwise) on the table, you could just use them to take down the ulitharid before it gets started.  I see your point with the steals or explosions (since that would take out your un-animated EE, however, I do think the ulitharid can frequently be handled by this deck.

I'm going to test it out for a little while, see if I have better feedback to offer.

Having now responded to this thread thrice with no other commenters, I realize I'm playing a dangerous game.  But it's been bothering me that this is the Mono-Deck thread, and your post is definitely Duo.  I whole-heartedly agree that Air totally lacks permanent control and this is a fantastic reason NOT to run a mono-air deck.  However, I think if one is going to run it, my deck isn't half bad.  In another discussion, you pointed out the superiority of only using 5 EEs and 5 AWs, and I tend to agree.  A little more testing and I see how lame it is to get three EEs and one AW in your opening hand.

In defense of the damselflies, I find that they offer great speed.  Which, in a mono-air deck, is the best you can hope for.

Only mono dark or fire? Seriously, have you seen some mono decks of other elements? Take Shrieker Rush, for example. It's shown to be one of the fastest decks ever created! And, is that dark or fire? I didn't think so. Couse, I guess you did say usually...
