Here is my dual deck water/life (part of water synergy personal studies):

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 8pp

STATS AFTER 100 MATCHES:
Win rate = 81 % on AI3
EM = 21% on AI3

Win time on average = 8 turns

Managed meanwhile to upgrade some cards, in fact replacing toadfishes with Abyss Crawlers.

Arena : Not really viable, tried also variations adding shields, heals, is not working if you don't have an oportunity to remove opponents shields.

Advantage over a single life rush deck is that after 2-3 turns after you played in a couple of Forest Spirits you avoid drawbacks from rain of fire, Otyugh and many others. The heals are supposed to cover eventual shields on opponent, granting improved survivability. Preffered heals instead of Emphatic Bond mainly because the number of creatures played will vary from game to game so might not be extremely helpfull in certain conditions. Also preffered to keep all cards at low costs to maintain it fast.
Also kept away weapons since the extra damage or healing will not be that great, and will involve a bad effect against light decks (Crusaders).

Pendulums may make it more quanta stable.

Pendulums may make it more quanta stable.
Actually the problem with pendulums is that will make the first 2-3 turns slow, since each 2 rounds you'll get no life quanta. The idea is to play the creatures asap. For forest spirit 1 round lost means 2xtotal turns of the game damage, and increased chance to get killed by spells, oty, etc.

Your QI of :water is 5.25 but your QI for :life is 3.43.
Yes, QI is as you say and is perfect, since most expensive card from water elemental is toadfish (5 quanta) and from Life is Heal (3 quanta).

***TRIALS RESPONSE***

On first look, this deck seems fine. Enough quanta for both elements, and usually wins in a decent time. However, the one glaring problem I've come across while playing it is the fact that I end up with a hand full of the wrong quanta, with all the other cards hidden in my deck. This has caused me to lose more than I have liked, which makes me believe that a switch to pendulums is definitely better for this deck (and duos in general). From a quick make, this is what I've made:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c2 5c2 5c2 5c2 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5i4 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 5jm 8pp

This deck uses life pends as a way to get out the spirits out faster, but includes life pillars for help with getting to the life quanta wanted to drop multiple heals. Two water quanta cards are there as well, to help get out the toadfishes faster and split to occasionally not let that nasty earth/gravity AI3 from wrecking havoc with your quanta that easily. From quick tests, this deck seems to be slightly more reliable than your all pillar version. The only real AI that I had trouble with was the mono aether AI, as this deck lacks a way to get around shields. It may also have some problems when going against the Scarab Elder if they get two scarabs early and gravity quanta. An early procrastination shield could also hurt as well.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.
