Ashy Steam Deck https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=9779.msg116252#msg116252

This deck is more of a mix of a rush and charge deck - it's a bit slower than a rush and has some control. This is a very cheap deck - a starter deck can cover the costs!

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4t4 5f1 5f1 5f1 5f1 5f1 5f6 5f6 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i7 5i7 5i7 5i9 5ia 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 8po

Here's how it works:

Turn 1: Play all Sapphire Pillars.

Turn 2: Play Ash Eater. Do not Immolate.

At around Turn 3-5, if you reach 3  :water, Immolate Ash Eater and play Steam Machine. If you reach 4  :water or more, play Steam Machine and Immolate Ash Eater next turn for 2 extra damage. Unless, of course, enemy has fire buckler or shield.

Save Freeze for the dangerous creatures - make sure to have at least one Steam Machine out first. Save for Ice Shield for at least two Steam Machines or if you are playing a Devourer/Pest deck.

Deflags for the very annoying permanents, like Bonds, Druidic Staff, etc.

Short Sword after you have at least one Steam Machine out.

Purify for poison or emergency heal, obviously.

This can beat level 3 pretty well. I need help, however, to make it even better. Please feel free to post suggestions/changes.

Nice deck. But there is room for improvement. It would be a lot faster upgraded. I know you said this is for beginners. But I'm in a helping mood today, so deal with me, please.

A deck image of the upgraded version. This is for advanced players.

Code: [Select]
5i9 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 7dh 7dh 7dm 7dm 7dn 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7ds 7ds 7ds 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gn 7gn 7gn 7gq
It better to leave ice shield unupgraded, same for the Steam Machines. You want to keep the card count to 30. Of course, if you want to, that's fine.

A little bit slower than the above.
Code: [Select]
7dh 7dh 7dm 7dm 7dn 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7ds 7ds 7ds 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gn 7gn 7gn 7gp 7gq 7h2 7h2 7h2
Sorry about the big post. Again, I'm in a helpful mood.

EDIT: Couldn't stop my self from adding this.
Code: [Select]
7dh 7dh 7dm 7dm 7dn 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dp 7ds 7ds 7ds 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gn 7gn 7gn 7gp 7gq 7h2 7h2 7h2 7h2 7h2 7h2If you want to increase the size to 33 cards.

Hope this helps you. ( I know this isn't deck help.)

Yup, obviously it will be better upgraded. Phoenixes are only effective crematers when they are upgraded. Brimstones are also good to play first for early fires, especially if you don't have cremation. Also, I was looking at Fahrenheit as the rare weapon that would go well with this...it's good damage late game.

Either way, thanks!

Your welcome.  :)  :))

EDIT:This deck is great against Top 50 upgraded or not. Great job making this. It's the first practical use of steam machine in a deck that really works.

Hmm, if you were to find a way to combine this deck of yours with this one it would make a decent deck.

Huh, that's actually a good idea. I really hate two types of pillars.

4t5 5f6 5f6 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5fa 5fa 5fa 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i7 5i7 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5ii 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9
After several tests in Trainer, I've found that as soon as a Photon is Immolated, the ball really starts rolling. Very fast rush. Here's a screenshot:

In this game, I froze the Devourer and Parasite early on. (I actually had another Golem, but it got poisoned too much before I realized that I needed to freeze the Parasite)

Lol, it is far from unpredictable. The only thing unpredictable about it is the cards the opponent has - if they have a protected Eternity, for example, you're screwed. Otherwise, the basic strategy is simple - immolate, play Steam Machines (and Golems), boost damage.
