Title: Arctic Entropy [Entropy][Water]
Post by: willng3 on February 20, 2011, 03:48:33 am
The second of my :water / :entropy duos I used for the Odd Alliances tourney, this one was used for more defensive purposes.  I originally tried this with only Ice Bolts/Lances but found it to be way too slow and just not effective.  It did not fail me once during the tourney and looking back I really should have used it more than I had :/

Decent for PvP, but better mainly when you're forced to get more creative with deck building.

Id use Congeal instead of ice lance, otherwise looks very solid.

fit 2 purifies in there would be very useful in the tourney
(a lot of miracle poison stall decks are in the tourney)

This is probably a better mod than what I have currently.  What I was going for was switching from a more speedy :water / :entropy build to a slower version to throw off the opponent, but I never did manage to find the courage to do this.  In saying this, I assumed my opponent wouldn't take Poison against a Water deck and instead would go for more control/stalling, hence the Ice Lances.  Outside of my tactics in the tourney Congeals or Purifies would probably work more effectively

The way youre talking bout confusing the opponent and the planning you seem to put into your decks makes me feel very noobish :( Now to follow it up with a noobish question:

If its suppose to be defensive, would it be better suited to have closer to a 40 card count with some stalling cards like Congeal and Discord?

Ah, my apologies for that.

Yes that would be probably work as well.  You'll need more Towers/Pends to make it work right, but it's very possible.  I personally just don't like giving the opponent a lot of time to set up, so I slimmed it down to 30 cards to give me better chances of drawing my Dragons and Antimatter.  It's really just my way of being both offensive and defensive at the same time, which really keeps the opponent on their toes.  If you went for more of a stall then I would advise keeping in those Ice Lances before adding Congeals/Purifies/Discords; if you're going to run into Deck-out situations more often then you'll probably need them.

Anyways he doesn't use 40 Cards, as it makes it more prone to bad draws, its not a deck out so no need for over maybe at worst 35 cards, this deck is not a complete stall, its slightly more inclined to defense but its a balanced deck.
For that reason it has damage... It stalls, while it builds up damage, another example of this is Mono Aether (Not my version, just the average person one).
EDIT: Ninja'd by under a min by will, then again his deck not mine, so its his vision.
