So I heard you like 2's....?
Double Double Double Double - RulesOriginal idea by:
theelkspeaks Players must duel each other according to moderately specific rules in a double entry double elimination bracket!.
1. HOW TO SIGN UP?Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting in the sign-up thread!
Minimum number of participants for this event is
16.
2. GETTING READYPrepare a collection of cards ready to build decks as your rules for each new round are revealed.
3. BRACKETSThe bracket for this event will be a double elimination bracket, but each player will be entered TWICE in the bracket. Players will play an opponent in each round in a best of 3 match.
The player who wins the tournament wins the event.
4. DUELSPlayers have approximately 7 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final. Due to this being a bracketed event, the clock for all rounds will start when the event starts - you may play ahead if your opponent(s) are determined! Some rounds may have adjusted durations due to the nature of non-waitless double elimination tournaments (never shorter than 7 days). If you and your opponent are unable to find a time to duel within the time limit, you must PM the organizer asking for an extension BEFORE the round timer runs out.
Most matches are best-of-three, but one or more event cards may modify the match length. The first player who wins 2 individual duels wins the match (unless an event card alters this rule).
For each match, two elements will be randomized. Players must use these two elements as the marks of their game 1 and game 2 decks, in either order. Additionally, an event card rule will modify each round's rules. Both of these will be revealed throughout the event.
The following rules also apply to all rounds' decks, unless an event card supercedes them:
You must use an even number of copies of every card in your deck, though nymphs and their corresponding alchemy cards will be considered to be the same card for the purposes of this rule.
The number of elements present in your deck, including Other, must be an even number of elements. An element is present if any card from that element is present, INCLUDING THE MARK OF YOUR DECK.
There must be an even number of unique cards in each deck, though nymphs and their corresponding alchemy cards will be considered to be the same card for the purposes of this rule.
Players may use 3 upgrades in game 1 of a match, 6 upgrades in game 2, and 12 upgrades in game 3.
It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
5. AFTER DUELSWinner should post in the round topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went.
Both the winner and the loser are required to post their decks.
6. ELIMINATIONS AND WINNEREach player has two entries in the event. When an entry has lost 2 Best-of-X matches, that entry is eliminated. Players will be ranked in the event by their higher performing entry. If a tiebreaker is required for WC points (which would occur for 4th place if the same player has two entries in the top 4), it will be broken by a Best-of-3 match.
7. REWARDSAs per revised code policy, the winner will receive a nymph/mark code and an award icon.
The top 4 players will receive World Championship points, most likely 10/4/2/1 pending final review from the PVPOs.
