I do know that. I'd like to have 10 cards as "reserve" hp to redeem later... is that legal?

As far as I can tell, no.

But it does mean your 10 cards not there are relics, not normal cards (At least I think).

That is correct.  You cannot "reserve" undefined cards to be added at a later date.  Your 10 unlisted cards will be added as Relics that you can use to either train your dog between rounds, or to discard as damage.  Please add them in as such.
