err you do now with only 30 hp ur gonna get knocked out in round one since this is the first time the event is being run i will allow you to take away 5 xp or1 stat point and put it into health.

If he wins his first match, shouldn't he be able to survive?
Since he can add points to his HP and boost himself over the minimum 30.

yes i guess that is true if he doesnt want to change it then thats his choice. Also he still will recive half the damage he does after subtracting his defense.

Yes i realize that.  Like onizuka said, i should be okay if i win the first match.  If i win the experience from the learning should cover the damage i hope.

I was expecting a lot more higher strength dogs than what people have made, so i was pretty much figuring that there would be a lot of first round deaths, thats why i did it like i did.

The minimum damage equal to strength only applies if you lose.  There is no minimum when you win.  You took 0 damage in your battle, so feel free to salvage an additional card or take a Relic for your extra 1xp.

If you had a better choice in cards, I would say you are pwning everyone.
Most people need 3 - 5 wins to beat you, and you need 1 - 3 wins to beat everyone else, the odds are in your favor, as I learned
