Zanz, the author, has the code.
I heard Chriskang, now gone, once saw a sizable portion of the code.
How am I going to get the code from Zanz without bugging him? Steal?You can talk to Zanz. Just don't annoy him.

Also, The void type looks like a good idea. Maybe different cards could have their void quanta behave in different ways? Some cards would let you choose which type to affect, some cards that always give your opponent quanta of one I would reccommend commenting in the Void series thread to get Bloodshadow's attention. However take special note of the new forum rules about Pseudoquanta cards. (which are almost done fluctuating)
I've also noticed that bad draws are far more detrimental to my play in elements than they are in games like MTG and yu-gi-oh. Maybe it's because there are more cheap cards in MTG and no cost to playing most cards in yu-gi-oh. Either way, something needs to be done about that. Sounds like a good motive for some card ideas.

I think that you guys should create a "Joint Card Set" Idea-Factory-recognized competition, where players create 2-5 cards that not only flawlessly provide balance with themselves but individually provide a least a little bit of synergy with existing cards. This is because everyone yells and balances about how an individual card idea fits into the rigid meta-game we have now, but some existing cards just screw up the meta-game big time when removed, such as the existence of Deflagration and Steal keeping SoG, Dimensional Shield, and other nasty permanents from being OP. We can't expect to find true ingenuity by just branching out from Old Trees, true ingenuity comes from planting a new one.

Could that effect be replicated by pushing through cards in the armory and forge and putting a large number of them into the game? It would definitely shake the metagame a bit, and add plenty of new novel mechanics in the process.

Does Zanzarino know what a class is? Cards take that long to code?

I saw your highlight topic. Some of the cards I wouldn't have included - the harpy isn't particularly innovative. It's also lacking all the best card ideas too; mine.

Does Zanzarino know what a class is? Cards take that long to code?
Zanz probably knows what a class is and probably knows how to use polymorphism effectively.
Cards mechanically probably need to be tested for function, timing bugs, pvp bugs and AI usage. (this is all in addition to balancing and art)

Also Zanz probably has a job.

However if you are willing to help Zanz with the coding he might appreciate that. The last person to help Zanz developed a reasonably smart targeting priority system that significantly reduced the rare stupid AI plays. (they went inactive a long time ago though)

In addition, I don't believe this will have the same effect because currently all the cards are individually balanced to seamlessly fit into the rigid meta-game of today... this complete opposite of individual metagame-shaking cards that upon collective introduction keep the meta-game in balance. That means that there's no "neurotoxin" card in the armory since there's no "purify" card in the game, and this competition would allow a "neurotoxin" level, a higher level, of creativity because "we currently have no Purifies, so this card is OP" can be replied with a second card idea, purifty. Another example is buff cards and dive/deja vu. Without Blessing, Chaos Power, or Sky blitz, dive, deja vu, and 0-stat creatures would be UP.
