This is for newer forum folks that may not know .

There are three groups of elements Cardinal, Spiritual and Material .
I will explain them in the easiest to hardest to understand.

Material:
Earth Air Fire Water these are the material elements. What they have in common is, they can be noticed with the five senses we have. Sight smell hearing taste and touch . Touch being the most important .

Spiritual:
Life Death Light Darkness these are the spiritual elements. These elements exist in a physical form, an unseen form and in a sense of ideals.

Cardinal:
Aether Entropy Time Gravity these are the cardinal elements. What defines these elements are that they all somewhat universal. What I mean is they have influence on all things in some way, including each other.

Hmm... I've seen this come up in card idea posts often. Its nice to have a post here to discuss the topic itself.

One thing that seems to come up very commonly is the idea of "opposite" elements.
This is easiest to define for the spiritual elements, and not too difficult for material ones.

But is a little trickier in terms of the cardinal elements.

I've seen a lot of schemes for cardinal opposites, but do you know if Zanzarino has ever actually declared one himself? If so can you post the link?

Zanzarino has made 1 graphic answering this question. I do not have it at hand so I will try to describe it

The 4 material elements formed a square. Off of each material element was a pair of either spiritual or cardinal elements.
I forget the order and the associated material elements:
 :entropy :gravity

 :death :life

 :light :darkness

 :time :aether
